◆ Original Text(원문) ◆
■ 懷香詩에 曰慾供一爐奉인대 恭懷千里心하라 (회향시에 왈욕공일로봉인대 공회천리심하라)
In the poem of Cherishing Fragtance, it is said :
If you wish to offer a single burner of incense,
respectfully cherish a heart that spans a thousand miles.
■ 香煙이 飛不散하나니 定向至誠深이니라. (향연이 비불산하나니 정향지성심이니라.)
The smoke of the incense flies but dose not disperse,
when the direction is fixed, the ultimate sincerity becomes deep.
▣ Key Takeaways(핵심 요약) ▣
● Mental Preparation : The text emphasizes that physical act of lighting incense is
secondary to the vast, respectful mental state(the "thousand - mile heart")
of the practitioner.
● Focus and Direc tion : The smoke of the incense serves as a metaphor for prayer
or intention. Just as smoke shouldn′s sctter aimlessly, a practitioner′s focus
must be "fixed" and "straighht" to achieve deep sincerity.
