God is the One who saves lives. In today's passage, Jesus gave the twelve disciples the power and authority to heal diseases, instructing them to travel throughout every village to preach the gospel and heal the sick. Consequently, Herod, believing that John the Baptist had risen, was greatly alarmed and sought to see Jesus. When Jesus went to Bethsaida with His disciples, He healed the sick among the crowds that followed Him; and as evening approached, He blessed five loaves of bread and two fish and fed five thousand people. Furthermore, He spoke of His suffering and death, and His resurrection, and He was transfigured on the Mount of Transfiguration. May the Lord's salvation come upon us.
