Timo Jansson — Iron Man, the King of TKD Breaking, Returns to Busan 🇫🇮🇰🇷

Our friendship with Timo Jansson goes back to 2019, when his nearly two-week journey in Korea became the beginning of a lasting connection.

Seven years later, Timo returned to Busan.

And this time?

There was absolutely no time to relax. 😂

We met at Busan Station at 9:00 a.m., and from that moment on, we attacked Busan almost like it was a one-day endurance challenge.

First stop — Busan Museum.

Then straight to Gwangalli Beach, where Timo jumped into the sea for a quick swim. With strong winds and rough waves, however, Mother Nature apparently had other plans. 😂

So we changed clothes and moved on to something much safer — SUSHI! 🍣

After lunch at Gatten Sushi, we drove up to Hwangnyeongsan Mountain, enjoyed the spectacular panoramic view of Busan, and relaxed for a while over coffee and conversation.

But not for long…

Back on the road!

Next came Choryang Ibagu-gil, exploring its hillside alleys and monorail.

On our way down, we unexpectedly came across a surprisingly large Buddhist temple called Shaolin Temple (소림사).

Of course, with two martial artists passing by a temple named “Shaolin,” how could we possibly just walk past it? 😂

So we made an unplanned stop, stepped inside to take a look around, and took a few photos in front of the beautiful golden Buddha statues.

Another unexpected little memory added to our crazy Busan adventure!

From there, we continued on to Gwangbok-dong for some window-shopping and sightseeing, followed by Yongdusan Park — photos, sightseeing, souvenir shopping at the duty-free shop…

and whatever else caught our eyes along the way. 😄

Still not finished.

We headed straight for Taejongdae, one of Busan’s most famous coastal landmarks.

We drove around enjoying the beautiful coastal scenery and also stopped at Taejongsa Temple (태종사), tucked away among the trees inside Taejongdae.

Another temple! 😂

After our unexpected visit to Shaolin Temple earlier in the day, somehow our crazy Busan tour had turned into a mini temple tour as well.

We stopped by the large stone monument marked 太宗寺 (Taejongsa), took a few commemorative photos, and then continued our drive around Taejongdae.

Beaches, mountains, temples, old streets, downtown Busan, Korean food… we were really trying to fit all of Busan into a single day! 😂

By then, after spending the whole day walking, swimming, climbing, driving, eating and sightseeing, even the Iron Man and King of TKD Breaking needed fuel. 😂

So we returned to Choryang and finished the day properly — Korean-style barbecue at Eunha Galbi. 🥩🔥

Then, finally…

Back to where we started — Busan Station.

From 9:00 a.m. until 8:15 p.m., we squeezed what felt like three days of Busan into one crazy day.

At 8:15 p.m., Timo boarded the train back toward Seoul.

A short visit, a ridiculously busy schedule, plenty of food, laughter and memories — but above all, another chapter added to a friendship that began in 2019.

Seven years later, the friendship continues.

Safe travels, Timo, my friend.
This was not goodbye — just another “See you again!” 👋🚄
