Two Bridges

   During a U.S. presidential campaign, one candidate declared his intention to build "a bridge to the past." His opponent quickly replied that what was really needed was "a bridge to the future." The truth: you can't have the latter without the former, since our view of the past affects how we live out our futures.

   This and every year's lessons press this truth into action. We begin by exploring Genesis, which reconnects us with our origins. You can't build a bridge any farther into the past than that! The lessons for winter, spring, and summer help us explore various points along the timeline of God's dealings with humans. We will discover anew that the bridge that takes us forward to our glorious eternity is none other than Christ and his cross. To him be the glory!
