1. What is the contents of the text?

-1.Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you,

-and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land.
-2.You shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king, except that you may carry off their

-plunder and livestock for yourselves. Set an ambush behind the city."
-3.So Joshua and the whole army moved out to attack Ai. He chose thirty thousand of his best fighting men

-and sent them out at night
-4.with these orders: "Listen carefully. You are to set an ambush behind the city. Don't go very far from it.

-All of you be on the alert.
-5.I and all those with me will advance on the city, and when the men come out against us, as they did before,

-we will flee from them.
-6.They will pursue us until we have lured them away from the city, for they will say, 'They are running away

-from us as they did before.' So when we flee from them,
-7.you are to rise up from ambush and take the city. The LORD your God will give it into your hand.
-8.When you have taken the city, set it on fire. Do what the LORD has commanded. See to it; you have

-my orders."
-9.Then Joshua sent them off, and they went to the place of ambush and lay in wait between Bethel and Ai,

-to the west of Ai--but Joshua spent that night with the people.
-10.Early the next morning Joshua mustered his men, and he and the leaders of Israel marched before them to Ai.
-11.The entire force that was with him marched up and approached the city and arrived in front of it. They

-set up camp north of Ai, with the valley between them and the city.
-12.Joshua had taken about five thousand men and set them in ambush between Bethel and Ai, to the west

-of the city.
-13.They had the soldiers take up their positions- all those in the camp to the north of the city and the ambush

-to the west of it. That night Joshua went into the valley.
-14.When the king of Ai saw this, he and all the men of the city hurried out early in the morning to meet Israel

-in battle at a certain place overlooking the Arabah. But he did not know that an ambush had been set against

-him behind the city.
-15.Joshua and all Israel let themselves be driven back before them, and they fled toward the desert.  
-16.All the men of Ai were called to pursue them, and they pursued Joshua and were lured away from the city.
-17.Not a man remained in Ai or Bethel who did not go after Israel. They left the city open and went in pursuit of Israel.

너는 성 뒤에 복병할 찌니라(2g)

이에 여호수아가(3a)

일어나서 군사와 함께(3b)

아이로 올라가려 하여(3c)

용사 삼만 명을 뽑아(3d)

밤에 보내며(3e)

그들에게 명하여 가로되(4a)

너희는 성읍 뒤로 가서(4b)

성읍을 향하고 매복하되(4c)

그 성읍에 너무 멀리 하지 말고(4d)

다 스스로 예비하라(4e)

나와 나를 좇는 모든 백성은(5a)

다 성읍으로 가까이 가리니(5b)

그들이 처음과 같이(5c)

우리에게로 쳐 올라 올 것이라(5d)

그리할 때에(5e)

우리가 그들 앞에서 도망하면(5f)

그들이 나와서(6a)

우리를 따르며(6b)

스스로 이르기를(6c)

그들이 처음과 같이(6d)

우리 앞에서 도망 한다 하고(6e)

우리의 유인을 받아(6f)

그 성읍에서 멀리 떠날 것이라(6g)

우리가 그 앞에서 도망하거든(6h)

너희는 매복한 곳에서(7a)

일어나서 그 성읍을 점령하라(7b)

너희 하나님 여호와께서(&c)

너희 손에 붙이시리라(7d)

너희가 성읍을 취하거든(8a)

그것을 불살라(8b)

여호와의 말씀대로 행하라(8c)

보라 내가 너희에게(8d)

명하였느니라. 하고(8e)

그들을 보내매(9a)

그들이 복병할 곳으로 가서(9b)

아이 서편 벧엘과(9c)

아이 사이에 매복하였고(9d)

여호수아는(9d)

그 밤에 백성 가운데서 잤더라(9e)

아침에 일찍이 일어나서(10b)

백성을 점고하고(10c)

이스라엘 장로들로 더불어(10d)

백성 앞서 아이로 올라가매(10e)

그를 좇은 군사가 다 올라가서(11a)

성읍 앞에 가까이 이르러(11b)

아이 북편에 진 치니(11c)

그와 아이 사이에는(11d)

한 골짜기가 있었더라(11e)

그가 오천 명 가량을 택하여(12a)

성읍 서편 벧엘과 아이 사이에(1b)

또 매복시키니(12c)

이와 같이 성읍 북편에는(13a)

온 군대가 있고(13b)

성읍 서편에는(13c)

복병이 있었더라(13d)

여호수아가 그 밤에(13e)

골짜기 가운데로 들어가니(13f)

아이 왕이 이를 보고(14a)

그 성읍 백성과 함께(14b)

일찍이 일어나서(14c)

급히 나가(14d)

아라바 앞에 이르러(14e)

정한 때에(14f)

이스라엘과 싸우려 하고(14g)

성읍 뒤에(14h)

복병이 있는 줄은(14i)

알지 못하였더라(14j)

거짓 패하여(15c)

광야 길로 도망하매(15d)

모여서 여호수아를 따르며(16c)

이스라엘을 따라가지(16g)

-공식을 만들 수 있다면 삶에 큰 무기를 가진 셈이다.

하나님, 전쟁할 수 있는 용기를 주옵소서. 미련하기 짝이 없는 내 생각과 감정으로

하지 않고 말씀이 가는대로 우리들의 사도이시며 대제사장이신 예수님만을 바라보고

가게 하옵소서. 부활로 승리하신 당신의 새 창조 사역을 찬양합니다. 날마다 내 앞에

놓인 죄와 싸우기 위해 율법을 묵상하며 시절을 좇아 과실을 맺는 의인의 복을 누리며

살게 하옵소서.
