☞♣ 블루벨(bluebell)은 이름에서 알 수 있듯 파란색의 작은 종모양 꽃이 달리는 구근 다년생 식물로 스페인 북서부에서 영국 제도에 이르는 대서양 지역에서 발견되며 정원 식물로 자주 사용된다. 영어에서는 일반적인 블루벨 또는 단순히 블루벨로 알려져 있으며 스코틀랜드에서 헤어벨(harebell, 실잔대), 캘포눌라 로툰드폴리아(Campanula rotundifolia)를 지칭하기 위해 사용되는 이름이다. 학술명은 '씰라(Scilla non-scripta)' 로 한 줄기에 작은 종모양의 꽃이 여러 송이가 달린 채 피어나는 것이 특징인 풀꽃이다. 푸른빛 외에도 청보랏빛 또는 보랏빛을 띠기도 한다. 높이 50cm로 자라는 다년초이며 푸른빛을 띠고 있고 종모양처럼 보인다고 하여서 이름이 붙여진 것으로 추정된다. 주로 서유럽 지역에서 자생하는 것으로 알려져 있으며 5월~6월에 피어난다. 한때는 해독이나 치유 목적으로도 사용한 적이 있었다.
