All the worst pleasures] are purely spiritual 최악의 쾌락들은 순전히 영적이다

* 교만거만 오만천만자는 누구나 싫어하지만 세상법정에 세울 죄는 못되나 성경은 패망죄의 선봉장이라 하는데

하나님께서 기다 하시는 걸 아니다 하는 사탄과 그 추종자들의 신노름이라 다분히 영적이고 육적 죄는 그 결과다 

If anyone thinks that Christians regard unchastity /as the supreme vice,

만약 누군가 기독인은 불륜을 최고의 악으로 간주한다고 생각하면 

he is quite wrong. 그 사람은 아주 틀렸다

The sins of the flesh are bad, 육체적인 죄들은 나쁘다

but they are the least bad of all sins. 그러나 그것들은 도든 죄들 중에 최하위로 나쁘다

* chastity ; referring to the virtue of exercising self-control over one's sexual behavior, (unchastity는 그 반대)

* they = sins of the flesh

* 그런 이유로 현장에서 잡힌 간음자는 쉽게 용서되었지만 돌든 바리새 의인들은 십자가 못질에 동참하였다

the pleasure of putting other people in the wrong, 다른 사람이 잘못했다고 하는 재미와 

of bossing and patronising and spoiling sport, 대장노릇과 경멸하기와 판 깨기

and back-biting, 험담하기

the pleasures of power, of hatred. 권력의 재미, 증오의 재미

* 한정사 all은 관사 앞에 씀

* patronising (영),  patronizing (미) 

*  PATRONIZING is showing or characterized by a superior attitude towards others : marked by condescension.

* 전목인 동명사구 ; putting other people in the wrong, bossing and patronising and spoiling sport, 

* 동명사인 Backbiting ; to slander someone in their absence — to bite them behind their back. 

* spoilsport ; behave in a way that ruins other people's pleasure or enjoyment; wet blanket, killjoy, party pooper,

* put people in the wrong ; they are misinterpreted and made look guilty when they are not

For there are two things inside me, 왜냐면 내 안에 두 가지 일/상황들이 있기 때문이다 

competing with the human self //which I must try to become. 내가 되려고 노력해야 하는 인성과 경쟁하는 것들

They are the Animal self, and the Diabolical self. 그것들은 동물본성과 바귀본성이다

The Diabolical self is the worse of the two. 마귀본성은 둘 중 최악이다

* diabolical ; characteristic of the Devil, or so evil as to be suggestive of the Devil.
            extremely evil or cruel; expressive of cruelty or befitting hell.

* 삽입구인 형역 과분사구 competing with the human self //which I must try to become (two things 수식)

* 예수님께서는 자칭의인 노릇하는 바리새인들에게 대놓고 마귀자식이라 하셨는데 진리를 반대하는 누구나 마자식이다

요한복음 8:44 (KRV)

너희는 너희 아비 마귀에게서 났으니 너희 아비의 욕심을 너희도 행하고자 하느니라

저는 처음부터 살인한 자요 진리가 그 속에 없으므로 진리에 서지 못하고 거짓을 말할 때마다 제 것으로 말하나니

이는 저가 거짓말쟁이요 거짓의 아비가 되었음이니라

That is why [a cold, self-righteous prig //who goes regularly to church] may be far nearer to hell than a prostitute.

그것이 정규적으로 교회출석하는 냉정하고 독선적인 자칭의인이 창녀보다도 더 지옥에 한참 가까운 이유다 

But, of course, it is better to be neither. 그러나, 물론, 둘 다 아닌 게 더 좋다

* prig ; a person who obeys the rules of correct behaviour

and considers himself or herself to be morally better than other people.

* 가주어  it = to be neither. 

* 간음녀를 돌멩이로 죽이자한 회칠분칠 자칭의인 행세하는 바리새가 천국잔치 상석좌석 찬탈하나 실제로는 정반대다

If 만약 anyone 누구라도 thinks 생각한다면 that절 내용을 즉 Christians 기독인이 regard 간주하는 것 unchastity 불륜을

as the supreme vice 최고의 악으로, he 그 사람은 is quite wrong 매우 틀리다. 

The sins of the flesh 육체의 죄들은 are bad 나쁘다,

but 그러나 they 그것들은 are the least bad 가장 작은 잘못이다 of all sins 모든 죄들의. 

[All the worst pleasures 모든 최악의 재미들은] are purely spiritual 순전히 영적이다:
the pleasure 재미들 of putting 놓는/치부하는 other people 다른 사람이 in the wrong 잘못이라고,
of bossing 대장 노릇하기와 and patronising 경멸하기와 and spoiling sport 판 깨기,
and back-biting 뒤에서 욕하기와, the pleasures 재미들 of power 권력의, of hatred 증오의.

For 왜냐면 there are 존재하기 때문이다 two things 두 개/종류가 inside me 내 내면에,

competing 경쟁하는 with the human self 인간 자신과 which 그건 I 내가 must try 시도 해야는 to become 되려고.

* 이미 인간인데 인간이 되려고 노력한다는 말은 참된 인간본성을 잃지 않으려 노력하는 것이라 봄

They 그것들은 are the Animal self 동물적 본성과, and the Diabolical self 마귀적 본성이다.
The Diabolical self 악귀적 본성은 is the worse 최악이다 of the two 두 개 중에서.

That 그것이 is why 이유다 [a cold, self-righteous prig 냉정하고 독선적인 바리새가

may be far nearer 한층 더 가까울 수 있다 to hell 지옥에 than a prostitute 창녀보다.

But 그러나, of course 물론, it is better 더 좋다 to be neither 둘 다 아닌 것이.

* 사실 작은 죄나 큰 죄나 다 지옥 가는 죄지만 인간 기준으로 볼 때 죄 중에도 악귀적인 죄는 더 지독하니

히틀러/스탈린/모텍동 등의 전범들을 최악으로 치지만 경제범죄인 전세사기나 다단계도 같은 악당족이다
