3. 공산주의의 전략전술을 극복해야

이와 같이 시작부터 레버런 문과 통일운동은 종교 영역뿐만 아니라 정치·경제·문화·과학·기술·언론·교육 영역에서 엄청난 오해와 비난, 박해와 시련을 견디어 왔습니다. 우리는 일반 대중과 위정자들로부터 사회 전반에 걸쳐서 반대와 박해를 받아 왔습니다.

어떤 의미로는 전 세계의 모든 사람들이 직접 또는 간접적으로 통일운동의 운명에 책임이 있습니다. 그러나 세계적인 반대는 특히 공산주의자들에 의하여 이용되어 왔습니다. 공산주의자들의 표적에는 어떤 것이든 레버런 문의 이름이 붙어 있습니다.

대부분의 사람들에게 있어서 통일운동에 대해 올바른 이해를 갖는다는 것은 이제까지 대단히 어려웠습니다. 사람들이 우리에 관하여 듣고 보는 것의 대부분은 반대자들이 수년 동안에 퍼뜨린 거짓말과 선동적인 비난들이었습니다. 통일운동과 레버런 문에 관하여 믿으려고 했던 것은 단지 오래 전에 날조된 유언비어의 되풀이에 불과한 것이었습니다.

‘한 거짓말을 1백 번만 되풀이하면 진리가 된다.’라는 레닌의 가르침에 따라서 공산주의자들은 사람들에게 확신을 주기 위하여 똑같은 거짓 소문을 끊임없이 되풀이해 왔습니다. 가령 지난 12년 동안에 일본 공산당은 그들의 선전 기관지인 아카하타(赤旗)와 그들의 출판물에 16억 매의 반통일운동의 글을 인쇄하였습니다. 이것은 일본의 국민 개인당 16장에 해당하는 악의에 찬 선전이었습니다.

이것은 우리 운동을 파괴하려는 공산주의자들의 음모 중 하나에 불과한 것입니다. 반통일운동의 선전은 또한 중국·북한·동독·소련·쿠바·니카라과·리비아와 다른 나라들로부터 끊임없이 흘러나오고 있습니다. 이러한 거짓 선전은 공무원, 정부 지도자, 지식인, 종교지도자, 언론매체와 일반 대중에게 스며들고 있습니다. 그리하여 사람들이 왜곡된 내용을 수없이 듣게 되어 결국에는 사실로 믿게 됩니다.

그러나 가장 야비한 행위는 명백히 공산주의자가 후원하여 통일운동에 가입한 자에 대한 비인간적 처사로 행하는 소위 ‘역세뇌 운동’이란 것입니다. 인권의 보호자인 재판관과 법원은 가끔 기본적인 종교자유의 권리를 침해하는 데 서로 협력하기도 합니다. 아이로니컬하게도 이들 권리의 침해가 인권과 종교의 자유를 가장 크게 부르짖는 국가에서 발생하고 있는 것입니다.

역세뇌에 사용된 방법은 공산주의 정치범 수용소에서 자행되는 방법과 동일합니다. 회원을 감금하기 위하여 부모와 친척을 이용하여 정신병원에 위탁하기도 했습니다. 그밖의 전형적인 역세뇌자들은 납치, 불법 감금, 폭력, 정신적인 위협, 수면 방해, 알코올과 마약 사용에의 유인, 성적 유혹과 강간 등을 포함하고 있습니다.

이런 위협과 괴롭힘과 속임수에 의하여 전문적 역세뇌자들은 신앙을 포기하도록 강요합니다. 많은 사람들이 이런 범죄 행위로 인하여 육체적으로나 정신적으로 침해를 입게 됩니다.

여러분은 본인이 사랑하는 많은 사람들이 그들의 신앙과 이상 때문에 고통을 당하는 것을 볼 때 본인이 느끼는 그 깊은 슬픔을 상상할 수 없을 것입니다. 믿을 수 없게도 역세뇌 운동자들은 그들이 자행하는 방법을 우리가 사용하고 있다고 비난하고 있습니다. 여러분은 왜 공산주의자들이 레버런 문과 통일운동에 대하여 그렇게 적의와 두려움을 갖고 있고, 왜 그들이 그렇게 결사적으로 우리를 파괴하려고 하는지 의아해하실 것입니다.

여러분도 알다시피 공산주의의 궁극적 목적은 무신론적 유물론의 깃발 아래 전 세계를 정복하여 공산당 독재를 하는 것입니다. 실제로 노동가치론, 잉여가치론, 변증법적 유물론, 역사적 유물론과 같은 마르크스 이론들은 진리와 정반대이며 폭력혁명을 정당화하기 위해 주장된 것입니다. 지금까지 공산주의의 무서운 실체를 극복할 수 있는 것이 아무것도 없었습니다.

3. 共産主義の戦略戦術を克服すべき
 
このように、当初からレバレンド・ムーンと統一運動は、宗教の領域だけでなく、政治、経済、文化、科学、技術、言論、教育の領域で、途方もない誤解と非難、迫害と試練に耐えてきました。私たちは一般大衆と為政者から社会全般にわたって、反対と迫害を受けてきました。
 
ある意味では、全世界のすべての人々に、直接、または間接的に統一運動の運命に対して責任があります。しかし、世界的な反対は、特に共産主義者たちによって利用されてきました。共産主義者たちの標的には、いかなるものにも、レバレンド・ムーンの名前がついています。
 
これまで、ほとんどの人たちが、統一運動について正しく理解することは非常に困難でした。人々が私たちに関して見聞きすることのほとんどは、反対者たちが数年間、吹聴してきたうそと扇動的な非難でした。統一運動とレバレンド・ムーンに関して、人々が信じやすいのは、ただ単に、昔、捏造された流言飛語の繰り返しにすぎない言葉でした。
 
「うそも百回繰り返せば真実となる」というレーニンの教えに従い、共産主義者たちは人々に確信を与えるために、同じ偽りのうわさを繰り返し続けてきました。例えば、過去十二年間、日本共産党は彼らの宣伝機関紙である「赤旗」と彼らの出版物に十六億枚の反統一運動の記事を印刷しました。それは日本の国民一人当たり十六枚に相当する悪意に満ちた宣伝でした。
 
これは私たちの運動を破壊しようとする共産主義者たちの陰謀の中の一つにすぎません。反統一運動の宣伝は、中国、北朝鮮、東ドイツ、ソ連、キューバ、ニカラグア、リビアとその他の国々からも絶えず流れ続けています。このような偽りの宣伝は、公務員、政府指導者、知識人、宗教指導者、言論媒体と一般大衆に浸透しています。そうして、人々が歪曲された内容を数えきれないほど聞くようになり、結局、それが事実であると信じるようになるのです。
 
しかし、最も下品で卑しい行為は、統一運動に参加している人に対して非人間的処置を行う、いわゆる「ディプログラミング（脱洗脳）」というものです。それは共産主義者が協力していることは明らかです。人権の擁護者である裁判官と裁判所は、しばしば基本的な宗教の自由の権利を侵害することに協力することがあります。皮肉なことに、その権利の侵害は、人権と宗教の自由を最も声高に叫ぶ国家で発生しているのです。
 
ディプログラミングに使われる方法は、共産主義の政治犯の収容所で施行される方法と同じです。ディプログラマーたちは、少数派宗教の信仰をもつ人を監禁するために、親や親戚を利用して精神病院に委託したりもしました。その他の典型的なディプログラミングの手段としては、拉致、不法監禁、暴力、精神的な脅迫、睡眠妨害、アルコールと麻薬使用への誘引、性的誘惑と強姦などが含まれています。
 
このような脅迫と嫌がらせ、手練手管により、職業的ディプログラマーたちは信仰を捨てるように強要します。多くの人々が、このような犯罪行為によって、肉体的にも、精神的にも傷つくようになります。
 
私の愛する多くの人々が、その信仰と理想ゆえに苦痛に遭うのを見るときに感じる私の深い悲しみを、皆様は想像すらできないでしょう。信じられないことに、ディプログラマーたちは、自分たちの行っている方法を私たちが使っていると言って非難しています。皆様は、なぜ共産主義者たちがレバレンド・ムーンと統一運動に対して、そのように敵意と恐れを抱いており、なぜ彼らがそのように命懸けで私たちを破壊しようとするのか、不思議に思われるでしょう。
 
皆様も御存じのように、共産主義の究極的目的は、無神論的唯物論の旗のもとに、全世界を征服し、共産党独裁を実現することです。実際に、労働価値説、剰余価値説、弁証法的唯物論、史的唯物論のようなマルクス理論は、真理と正反対であり、暴力革命を正当化するために主張されたものです。今まで、共産主義の恐るべき実体を克服できるものが何一つとして存在しませんでした。

3. We need to defeat communist strategies

Likewise, from the beginning, Rev. Moon and the Unification movement have endured tremendous misunderstanding, accusation, persecution and tribulation, not only in the area of religion but also in politics, economics, culture, science, technology, media and education.

We have been opposed and persecuted wherever we have been by every segment of society, from the general public to governmental authorities. In a sense, therefore, all people in the world are directly or indirectly responsible for the fate of the Unification movement and are accountable for their actions in front of God.

The worldwide opposition, however, has been orchestrated in particular by communists. Their target is anything with Rev. Moon’s name attached to it.

For most people, it has been quite difficult to gain an accurate understanding of the Unification movement. Most of what people have heard and read about us has been the reflection of lies and sensationalism spread by our opponents and compounded over the years.

What people tend to believe about Rev. Moon and the Unification movement derives mostly from the repetition of false allegations made long ago. Following Lenin’s teaching that “A lie repeated one hundred times will become a truth,” communists have repeated endlessly the same false rumors in order to lend them credibility.

For example, in the past twelve years, the Japanese Communist Party has printed 1.6 billion pieces of anti-Unificationist literature in their propaganda organ Akahata and its affiliated publications. This comes to sixteen pieces of malicious propaganda provided to every Japanese man, woman and child!

This is but one of the many sources of disinformation put forth in the communist attempt to destroy our movement. Anti-Unificationist propaganda also flows unceasingly from countries such as China, North Korea, East Germany, the Soviet Union, Cuba, Nicaragua and Libya.

These lies filter down to public officials, intellectuals, religious leaders and the media, and eventually to the general public. By then, the distorted facts have been heard so many times people believe them to be true.

The most despicable actions against us, however, are apparent in the inhumane treatment of those who join the Unification movement. It is clear that the so-called “deprogramming” movement is supported by communists.

Judges and courts, the supposed custodians of human rights, often collaborate in this infringement of fundamental religious liberties. Ironically, the greatest violation of these rights takes place in countries that loudly proclaim their regard for human rights and the freedom of religion.

The methods involved in deprogramming are like those used in communist concentration camps. Using parents and relatives to entrap members, deprogrammers can commit grown adults to mental hospitals, citing our members’ supposed “illness” of holding a minority religious belief. Other typical deprogramming techniques include kidnapping, illegal detention, violence, psychological harassment, sleep deprivation, inducement to use alcohol and drugs, sexual seduction and rape.

Through such threats, harassment and manipulation, professional deprogrammers force members to renounce their faith. Many victims are injured physically and psychologically because of this criminal activity. You cannot imagine the deep sorrow I feel when I see so many people I love suffer for their faith and ideals. Incredibly, the deprogramming movement accuses us of using the reprehensible tactics they themselves practice so wantonly.

You may wonder why communists have so much fear and hostility toward Rev. Moon and the Unification movement, and why they are trying so desperately to destroy us. As you know, the ultimate goal of communism is nothing less than a Communist Party dictatorship subjugating the entire world under the banner of atheistic materialism.

Actually, Marxist theories—such as the labor theory of value, surplus value theory, dialectical materialism and historical materialism—are inversions of the truth, put forward only to justify violent revolution. Until now, nothing has existed that could give the world hope in light of the specter of communist global domination.
