Abstract: Modern technologies demand use of new materials with preset properties.
At creation of such materials which are meeting the requirements of real system, are used
various prognosis methods. However, the problem of development of system of requirements
to created materials till now is not solved. For example, one of ways of creation of new
polymer's design is based on connection between chemical structure of a functional group
and properties of a received material. Definitions of properties of polymers on their
structure have been offered Van Krevelen and Askadskii and have received a wide circulation
in the world. Using these methods it is possible to calculate structure of polymer with
required properties. At the same time, for such approach it is necessary to formulate very
precisely requirements to a created material. For development of these requirements methods
of TRIZ can be used. Concepts of the Ideal End result and the tendencies determined by Laws
of Development of Technical Systems can be useful.

Abstract: First of all, I want to introduce LG Cable briefly. LG Cable produces not only cables but also various products like heat pipe, refrigerator, injection machine, etc. Since 2001, LG Cable company has tried to enhance R&D processes and manufacturing processes by applying TRIZ. Therefore, LG Cable opened TRIZ education course and have taught full process of TRIZ to research engineers. And TRIZ has been adapted to practical engineering projects.
Several successful results were achieved through co-work with TRIZ team and research
engineers. For instance, the quality of Polymer Insulator and Heat Shrinkable Tube were
improved dramatically. The tolerance of Heat Shrinkable Tube was relatively more than 7mm
and the production speed was limited by the tolerance. Some solutions which satisfy
production speed and quality was developed by TRIZ. And the tensile strength of Polymer
Insulator was increased by TRIZ, too. In this paper, TRIZ applications and activities in
LG Cable will be discussed with examples and full processes.

Abstract: A rotary compressor with variable capacity is used in air condition
ers. An air conditioner is a key product of mass production of Digital Appliance Business of
Samsung Electronics Company. Therefore the improvement of design and reliability of air con
ditioners leads to expansion of the sale and helps the company to preserve leadership position
in the worldwide market. In this article the real industrial problem related to removing of
harmful interaction between compressor components “shaft-pin-double cam-roller-cylinder”
and destruction problem of driving pin and cam bush were solved with ARIZ application. It
is considered to use into the applied algorithm some new approaches and statements for
reforming initial customer’s problem in the line of the future solutions. The development
of different new designs of the compressor and its latching mechanism with the aid of applied
ARIZ has been analyzed. The outcome of this work obtained with using applied logical algorithm
tools is 21 concept solutions combined in 9 international and national patents and application
of some of them in mass production of the company with annual income about $10 Million. This
article could be useful for TRIZ users like real case study with measured results and how
ARIZ was used to develop the solutions.

these days. In this paper is introduced one curriculum on TRIZ for creative engineering
education at Korea Polytechnic University. Some educational case studies related TRIZ are
explained with activities for expanding mutual cooperation with TRIZ team at big companies
in Korea as one of the Industry-Universities collaboration that Korea government boosts,
such as educating practical and creative engineers with capability to resolve technical
problems.
