But I, as a biologist, would like to change a word in that story. That is, from "Now, do you see that tree over there?" to " Now, do you hear that tree over there?" As you may know already, bats, like dolphins and moths, locate things and their preys by so-called echo-location. They generate ultrasound and hear the reflection of the sound from the objects to locate and discriminate things in the dark of the night.
