A: I went to my cousin's wedding last weekend./ B: How was it? I've never been to a wedding ceremony in Korea.
A: It was fantastic. The venue was beautiful, and the ceremony was lovely./ B: I love weddings. So, who officiated the wedding?
A: Actually, there wasn't an official officiant. But his father gave a short speech. It was quite touching and meaningful.
A: 나, 지난 주말에 내 사촌 결혼식에 갔었어.B: 어땠어? 난 한국에서 결혼식에 한 번도 못 가 봤어.
A: 아주 멋졌어. 식장도 아름다웠고 결혼식도 참 사랑스러웠어.B: 난 결혼식이 정말 좋아. 그래, 누가 주례를 섰어?
A: 사실 공식적인 주례자는 없었어. 다만 신랑의 아버지가 짧은 연설을 하셨지. 참 감동적이고 의미가 있었어.

A: 있잖아, 미국의 결혼식은 참 달라.B: 그래? 어떻게?
A: 피로연이 대개 아주 성대해, 춤도 많이 추고 또 라이브 밴드도 있고.B: 그거 재미있겠다. 또 뭐가 달라?
A: 종종 신랑과 신부 측 들러리가 짧은 연설을 하곤 하지.B: 그렇구나. 어쩐지 그들의 결혼식은 더 길더라.
​A: The couple registered for gifts at different stores, so guests knew exactly what to buy./  B: That sounds so organized.
A: It actually makes things easier and ensures they get what they need.
B: True, that does sound practical. What kind of stuff do they usually ask for?
A: Mostly household items like kitchenware, bedding, and appliances.
A: 그 부부는 각각 다른 상점들에 받고 싶은 선물들을 등록해 두었더라고. 그러니 하객들이 무엇을 사야 할지 정확히 아는 거지.B: 그건 상당히 계획적인 것 같아.
A: 그건 사실 여러 상황을 좀 쉽게 만들기도 하고, 자신들이 필요로 하는 것을 분명히 얻게 되는 거지.
B: 맞아, 그건 참 실용적인 것 같긴 하다. 그럼 대개 어떤 것들을 요구해?

B: 어, 정말 그래! 그리고 대개 신부가 아버지와 감동적인 댄스를 추지. 그럼 늘 다들 눈시울이 붉어지게 돼.

A: I was a marketing manager for many years. I just retired from my old job and I'm looking to pick up some new skills now.
B: Is that right? Well, pleasure to meet you, Jack.

​A: Coming straight from your workout?/  B: Yup. Did a little bit of swimming today. How about you?
A: I just dropped off my kids at school. By the way, how are you managing with the early starts?
B: Well, it's tough. I'm not an early riser at all. Dragging myself out of bed every morning is hard.
A: I know. Well, I guess we just have to keep pushing to keep up with the program.
A: 운동하고 바로 오는 길이세요?B: 네. 오늘은 수영을 좀 했죠. 당신은요?
A: 방금 학교에 애들을 내려 주었어요. 그나저나 이른 시간에 하루를 시작하는 거 어떻게 해내세요?
B: 힘들죠. 전 원래 일찍 일어나는 사람이 전혀 아니거든요. 아침마다 억지로 일어나는 게 힘들어요.
A: 그러게 말이에요. 그래도 과정에 뒤처지지 않으려면 계속 밀어붙여야겠죠.
​A: My family is concerned about me getting back in the job market after so many years.
B: That's understandable. It's a big change./  A: They worry it'll be too overwhelming.
B: My wife passed away five years ago, but my kids have been very supportive.
A: I'm glad to hear that. It helps to have supportive people around.
