추락하지 않는 날개 / ....... 강명주
뜻이 크다 하여
모두 가치 있는 것은 아닙니다
높은 이상은 우리네 삶을
고양 시켜주지만
삶의 소모를 요구하고
우리는 불안전한 존재로
뜻이 하늘에 있다 하여도
두 발은 땅을 딛고 있질 않습니까
높이 오르려고만 한다면
이글거리는 태양의 열기로
날개는 녹을 것이며
중력이라는
자연의 법칙을 거스르는 일입니다
역사는 한꺼번에 진보하지 않으며
인간은 갑자기 성숙하지 아니하니
이상의 추구
추락하지 않는 날개는
오직 굳은 땅 뚫고 오르는
새싹의 문명을 닮아야만 되겠습니다

Just because a goal is grand does not mean it is all valuable.
High ideals elevate our lives, but they demand the exhaustion of life.
We are imperfect beings;
even if our will is in the heavens, do our two feet not still stand on the ground? If we only try to soar high,
our wings will melt under the scorching heat of the sun,
and it is an act of defying the natural law of gravity.
History does not progress all at once,
nor does humanity mature suddenly;
therefore, the pursuit of ideals—
the wings that do not fall—must resemble the civilization of the sprout
that pierces through the hard ground to rise.
