SEOUL, July 6 (Yonhap) -- A high-level policy coordination meeting between the ruling Democratic Party (DP) and the government took place Sunday at the prime minister's residence in Seoul.

The meeting marked the first of its kind since Prime Minister Kim Min-seok took office Thursday following his parliamentary confirmation hearing.
​
"This meeting serves as the key venue for coordinating the national agenda," Kim said during his opening remarks.
​
"We plan to discuss ways to maximize the impact of the supplementary budget, public relief measures and thorough preparedness for summer disasters like heat waves," the prime minister added.

Attendees from the ruling party included floor leader Kim Byung-kee, who is also serving as the party's acting leader, and Rep. Jin Sung-joon, the party's policy committee chair.

They were joined by the prime minister, Yoon Chang-ryeol, chief of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, and First Vice Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Hyung-il.
​
DP floor leader Kim urged the government to act quickly on multiple fronts, citing the need to implement the supplementary budget, ease the burden of high inflation and prepare for heat waves.
"There are so many issues to be tackled," he said.

(서울=연합뉴스) 고동욱 기자 = 이재명 정부의 첫 고위당정협의회가 6일 오후 김민석 국무총리 주재로 서울 삼청동 국무총리 공관에서 열린다.

김 총리가 지난 3일 국회 인준 절차를 마치고 정식 임명됨에 따라 열리는 첫 당·정·대 회동이다.

더불어민주당에서는 김병기 대표 직무대행 겸 원내대표와 김윤덕 사무총장, 진성준 정책위의장 등이, 정부에서는 김 총리와 윤창렬 국무조정실장, 이형일 기획재정부 1차관 등이 참석한다.

대통령실에서는 강훈식 비서실장과 김용범 정책실장, 우상호 정무수석, 하준경 경제성장수석 등이 참석한다.

이날 협의회에서는 전날 국무회의 의결까지 완료한 추가경정예산안의 빠른 집행 방안, 물가 대책, 폭염과 수해 등 재난안전대책 등이 두루 논의될 전망이다.
