I hope () no reader will suppose that ‘mere’ Christianity is here put forward /as an alternative

to the creeds of the existing communions. . .

For that purpose the worst of the rooms (whichever that may be) is, I think, preferable.

알면서도 교만함 때문에 문 열기를 주저하는지 내 개인적 취향이나 교회 문지기/사역자가 싫은 건지 반문한다

When you have reached [your own room], be kind /to those //who have chosen different doors
당신이 당신 자신의 문에 도달했을 때 당신과는 다른 문을 선택한 그들에게 친절하고
and to those //who are still in the hall.
(아직도 문을 못 찾고) 여전히 큰 방에 있는 그들에게도 친절하라

* 바른 교회를 찾았다면 틀린 교회를 가거나 아직도 못 찾은 사람들을 비방할 게 아니라 가엽게 여기고 친절히 대하라

If they are wrong they need your prayers /all the more;

That is one of the rules /common to the whole house.

그것이 전체 집에 공용/공통인 규칙들 중의 하나다

* 원수 사랑은 예수님의 명령이라 교회 생활의 중요한 한 규칙인데 원수도 아닌 제 식구 사랑도 안 하면 큰 문제다

* 교회 공동체에서 다양한 신조/신념/취향/의견/교리 등으로 일치와 화합이 불가하고 만인이 한 가지로 통합되는 건

독제사회나 가능하나 다양하고 고유한 인간특성의 사회에서는 불가하니 필수 교리에는 일치하되 비필수는 자유로

나머지 자잘한 건 사랑으로 용납하고 봐주면 기본적인 화합이 성사되므로 불일치로 치고받다가 교회 깨질 일 없다

영어는 "in essentials, unity; in nonessentials, liberty; in all things, charity"로 표현되는데 필수는 물론 예수님이신데

예수님의 신성, 성육신, 십자가 대속, 부활, 승천, 성령강림, 재림, 심판 등등의 성경 핵심에는 누구나 동의해야 산다

비필수 요소는 하면 서로가 좋고 안 해도 죽을 일은 없고 못해도 할 수 없는 각자의 고유한 선택의 문제라 자유롭고

다른 모든 사소한 문제나 비상식 행동이나 눈살 찌푸릴 일들은 서로가 자비로 참아주어야 자비의 심판이 기대된다
