Talk about Text to Speech technologh

TTS is short for Text to Speech.

It is technology which automatically reads

written text in a synthetic voice.

The use of this technologh was limited to

just a few applications at first.

But nowadays, it is all over the place.

PA systems in apartment complexes,

train and subway announcements and automated

customer support over the phone all use TTS.

The turn-by-turn directions from the satnav

we often use in our cars also use this technology.

TTS has its pros and cons.

On the plus side, it allows quick announcements

in real time.

The downside is that the synthetic voice

may come across as unnatural.

But as the technology makes headway,

the mechanical voices sound more and more natual,

TTS will likely be put to use in even more fields,

icluding education.

TTS 기술에 대해서 이야기해 주세요

TTS는 Text to Speech (텍스트 음성 변환)의 약자이다.

문자를 기계음으로 자동 재생해서 읽어 주는 기술이다.

이 기술은 처음에는 일부 국한된 사용처에서만 쓰였지만,

지금은 정말 다양한 곳에 활용되고 있다.

아파트 단지 내 안내 방송, 열차와 지하철 안내방송,

전화 자동 응답 ARS에도 모두 TTS가 사용된다.

텍스트 음성 변환의 줄임형인 TTS는 

문자를 기계음으로 자동 재생해서 읽어 주는 기술이다. 

처음에는 일부 국한된 곳에서만 사용되었지만, 

지금은 필요한 곳에서 활용되고 있다.

- TTS, which is short for Text to Speech, 

  is technology that automatically reads written text 

  in a mechanical voice. 

  The use of this technology was limited to

  just a few applications at first. But nowadays, 

  it is available to be used where necessary.

+ be short for : ~의 약자이다, ~의 줄임형이다

+ automatically : 자동적으로

+ written text : 씌여진 문자, 글씨

+ mechanical voice : 기계음

+ be limited to 명사 : ~에 재제적이다,

                        ~에 국한되다

아파트 단지 내 안내 방송, 열차와 지하철 안내 방송,
