■ Albrecht’s Reflection — A New Perspective on Sword Training
진영쌍검류 세미나를 통한 자신의 체험과 변화 소감

August 28 to 30, 2026
Sofia & Borovets in Bulgaria 🇧🇬

I had a wonderful experience with the seminar, from the training to the attitude of everyone present.
Getting to train with two swords instead of just one was a novelty for myself, which I very much welcomed.
It is also here that I got to use a real sword for my cutting training for the first time.
Every person was eager to learn something new and share what they had already mastered by helping each other.
The smaller group made it so we would get to know each other very well, and the delicious food and beautiful sights from our great hotels made sure that the mood would be good at all times.
The shift from pure training and swordplay to also include energy practice was interesting.
The energy practices taught me to be more aware of my body and its functions, and be more purposeful with every movement I make.
This change in mindset was extraordiany and put the sword training into a completely new perspective.
Trying to quiet my own mind and feel the energy flowing downward through my body taught me more than I expected about my own thoughts, impulses and relaxing instead of forcing a result upon myself.
It was a humbling and yet encouraging feeling and I am glad I got to experience it.
I rate my stay at the seminar and in Bulgaria 5/5

■ Grandmaster’s Reflection — When Experience Becomes Understanding
체험이 깨달음으로 이어질 때

Thank you, Albrecht, for sharing such a thoughtful reflection.
I am especially happy to hear that the seminar gave you a new perspective on sword training. What you described — quieting the mind, becoming more aware of your body, feeling the flow of energy, and learning to relax rather than force a result — is very close to the essence of what I wanted you to experience through KiMu.
You may not yet be very familiar with the word KiMu itself, but you have already begun to experience its principles through your own body and mind. That is much more important than simply knowing the terminology.
I also remember very clearly your first experience cutting with a real sword. You listened carefully to my instructions, followed the movement without trying to force the sword, and succeeded with a clean cut on your very first attempt. I could see the excitement and sense of achievement on your face, and it was wonderful that your family and the other participants were there to share that moment with you.
For me, that moment was also a good example of what we practiced throughout the seminar: when we stop forcing the result, relax, feel, and follow the right movement, the result can come naturally.
Thank you for coming all the way from Germany to join us in Bulgaria. I am very glad that you took something deeper home with you than simply new sword techniques.
This is only the beginning. 😊⚔️
I look forward to continuing this journey with you in Germany in November.
