자, 만약에 여러분들이 주에 가서 3년 동안 전도를 하나도 못 했다면, 그 동안에 죽은 사람들이 '야, 이 자식아! 네가 전도를 안 하면 사탄이 되는 줄 몰라? 왜 나를 전도 안 했어? 너를 하늘이 보내 줬는데 왜 전도 안 했어? 너 때문에 내가 죽어서 지옥에 왔다.' 하면 어떻게 할 거예요?

'네가 전도를 안 해서 내가 지옥에 와 있다. 사탄에게 보내졌다, 그러니 나는 너를 참소한다.'고 하는 거예요. 또, 나도 마찬가지로 여러분들에게 참소한다 이거예요. (125-18) 

이제 통일교회에서 전도하러 나간다 하는데, 나간다 하는 것은 후퇴예요, 전진이예요? '전도 나간다' 하는 것은 앞으로 나간다는 말입니다. '나간다' 하는 것은 발전한다는 것을 말하는 것이요, 전진한다는 것을 말하는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 전도 나가지 않고는 발전도 없고, 전진도 없는 것입니다. 

전도 나가서 일하는 사람을 흉보며 앉아 있는 사람은 망합니다. 그렇게 흉보다가는 비렁뱅이가 되어 손을 벌리게 될 것입니다. 그런가 안 그런가 두고 보라는 것입니다. (36-127)

전도 안 하면 망합니다. 망하고 싶으면 전도하지 않아도 됩니다. 가인을 찾지 못한 사람은 설 자리가 없는 것입니다. 아무리 하나님의 사랑을 외치더라도 가인이 없으면 천국에 못 가는 것입니다. (34-292) 

전도해야 하는 거예요. 네 몸과 마음과 정성을 다해서…. 

전도를 하는데도 내가 정성이 부족해서, 내 정성을 다 들이고도 부족해서 우리 어머니, 우리 형제에게까지도 협조해 달라고 해야 돼요. 부모까지 형제까지 딸까지도 협조시키려고 해야 되는 거예요. 그래야 된다구요. 그래야 영계에 있는 사람들이 혜택받는 거예요. 

여러분들에게 지금 나가 전도하라면, '전도 나가고 싶지 않은데, 아이구! 나 전도 안 나간다' 하고 도망가려고 할 것입니다. 그래 가지고 천국 들어가겠어요?

자, 나가 가지고 그 동네의 그 누구보다도 더 정성을 들이라구요. 미국이면 미국의 개척자 이상 정성을 들이고 해도 부족하고, 자기 누이동생. 자기 형님, 자기 부모, 자기 집 재산 전부 다 투입해도 부족할 텐데, 가서 잠만 자고 놀기만 하고 말이예요. 그러려면 차라리 안 나가는 게 낫지요. 

여러분은 지금 무슨 활동을 하고자 해서 그 활동에 패스했어요? 제1차 구약시대의 활동에 패스했어요? 누가 돈을 조금만 더 써도 '아이고! 저 사람 저런 옷 사 입었으니 나는 조금 더 좋은 옷을 사 입겠다' 이런 생각 해요, 안 해요? 여러분들은 어때요? 

자, 전도하라는 거예요. 그래 여러분들 전도를 했어요? 「예」 물어보면 시간이 없어 못 했다고 하는데, 시간이 없어요? 정성이 모자란다는 생각은 안 했어요? 그거 맞아요, 안 맞아요? 「맞습니다」 그걸 알아야 된다구요. 

다 건달꾼들같이…. 여러분 통일교인들은 건달꾼과는 통하지 않는다구요. 그게 통할 것 같으면 내가 고생을 안 했다구요. 일생이 짧은데 말이예요, 무엇 때문에 이 놀음 하는 거예요? 왜 그래요, 왜? 이걸 알아야 된다구요. 이 원칙을 알아야 됩니다. (95-298)

さあ、もし皆さんが州に行って、三年間伝道ができなかったとしたなら、この間に死んだ人たちが「やあ、こいつ！　お前が伝道をしなければ、サタンになるのを知っているのか。

なぜ私を伝道しなかったのか。天がお前を送ってくれたのに、なぜ伝道しなかった。お前のために、私が死んで、地獄に来た」と言えば、どうするつもりですか？ 「お前が伝道しなかったので、私が地獄に来ている。サタンに送った。だから、私はお前を讒訴する」と言うのです。また私も同じく、皆さんに讒訴するというのです。（一二五―一八）

今、統一教会で、伝道しに行くというのですが、行くというのは後退ですか、前進ですか？ 「伝道に行く！」というのは、前に進むということです。「進む」ということは、発展するということをいうのです。前進するということをいいます。ゆえに伝道しないと、発展もなく、前進もないのです。

伝道に出て、仕事をする人をあざ笑い、座っている人は滅びます。そのようにあざ笑っては、こじきになり、手を挙げるようになるでしょう。そうなるか、そうならないか、今に見ていなさい……というのです。（三六―一二七）

伝道しなければ滅びます。滅びたければ、伝道しなくてもいいです。カインを探せない人は、立つ場がないのです。いくら神様の愛を訴えても、カインがいなければ天国に行けないのです。（三四―二九二）

伝道しなければならないのです。私の体と心と、精誠を尽くして……。

伝道をするのに、私の精誠が不足して、私の精誠をすべてささげても不足で、私たちの母、私たちの兄弟にまでも、「協助してくれ」と言わなければなりません。父母まで、兄弟まで、娘までも協助させようとしなければならないのです。そうしなければなりません。そうしてこそ、霊界にいる人たちが恩恵を受けるのです。

皆さんに、今、「外に出て伝道せよ」と言えば、「伝道に出たくないのに……アイゴー、私は伝道には出ない」と逃げようとするでしょう。そんなことで天国に入れますか？　さあ、外に出て、その町内の誰よりも精誠を尽くしなさい。

アメリカなら、アメリカの開拓者以上に精誠を尽くしても、不足で、自分の弟、自分の兄さん、自分の父母、自分の家の財産、全部投入しても不足なのに、行って、寝るだけ寝て、遊んでばかりいるではないですか。それなら、むしろ行かないほうがましでしょう。

皆さんは今、何の活動をしようと、その活動にパスしましたか、第一次旧約時代の活動にパスしましたか？　誰かが少しお金を使っても、「アイゴー、あの人はああいう服を買って着ているから、私も少しいい服を買わなくては」こういう考えをもちますか。もちませんか？　皆さんはどうですか？

さあ、伝道しなさいというのです。皆さん、伝道しましたか？ （はい）。聞くと、時間がなくてできなかったというのですが、時間がないですか？　精誠が足りなかったというふうに考えませんでしたか。そうですか、そうではないですか？ （そうです）。それを知らなければなりません。

みなやくざのように……。皆さん、統一教会は、やくざとは通じないのです。それが通じるなら、私は苦労はしませんでした。一生が短いのに……です。何のためにこういうことをするのですか、なぜですか、なぜ？　これを知らなければなりません。この原則を知らなければなりません。（九五―二九八）

Suppose that you were not able to raise even one new member during your three years in the state. Then, those who died during this period might accuse you, "You bastard, are you not aware of the fact that if you do not witness to the people, then they become Satan?

Why did you not witness to me? You were sent by heaven, but why did you not witness to me? I had to go to hell because you did not witness to me." If they say this to you, then what are you going to do?

They will resentfully cry out, "I had to go to hell because you failed in witnessing. I was sent to Satan. So I am going to make the accusation against you." Moreover, I will also make accusations against you. [125-18]
 
Now we in the Unification Church are about to go out witnessing. Is this advancing forward or retreating backwards? "Going out witnessing" is surely advancing forward. "Going out" is the same as making progress. Therefore, without witnessing there will not be any development and advancement.

Those who speak against the people who are out witnessing will meet their doom. If they speak those wicked words, then they will become beggars. You just wait and see. [36-127]

If you do not witness, then you will decline. If you want to fade away, then you do not have to go out witnessing. No matter how much you proclaim the love of God, without Cain you cannot enter heaven. [34-292]

You must go witnessing with all your heart and devotion. When you are doing witnessing, you should plead for help from your mother, brothers and sisters saying that even with your very best efforts, it is not enough.

You should try to obtain cooperation of parents, brothers and sisters. This is what you should do. Only then can you receive the help of the spirit world.

If I tell you to go out witnessing, you will run away saying, "I do not want to go out witnessing. I am not going." How can you enter heaven with such an attitude? You must go out and invest more than anyone in the village.

If you are in America, even if you display greater devotion than the early pioneers it is still not enough, and it won't be enough even if you take all the assets of your younger sister, your older brother, your parents and yourself and invest them in your mission. Yet, what you do is sleep and play all day. If that is what you are going to do, then it is better that you do not go out in the first place.

Until now, have you passed the requirements for the activities that you were engaged in? Did you pass the activities that correspond to the Old Testament? When you see someone spending a little more money than you, then do you think, "Since that person bought such and such clothes, I should buy a little better clothes?" Do you or not? How about you?

So I am telling you to go out witnessing. So did you witness? [Yes] If I ask you about it, you tell me that you could not do it because you did not have time, but do you really not have time? Did it ever occur to you that it is really because your devotion is inadequate? Is that true or false? [True] You must understand this.

You are all like hooligans . . . Unification Church members should have nothing to do with hooligans. If that was not the case, then I did not have to go through suffering. Life is very short. So why are you acting so foolishly? Why? Why are you behaving that way? This is what you must realize; you must understand the fundamental principles. [95-298]
