And because there are three classes, [any merely twofold division of the world into good and bad] is disastrous.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world,

but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

Then you will learn to know God’s will for you,

* 우리 자신의 선한 즐거움에 기인하여 우리의 노력으로 하나님과 결합합성하여 새 영/새 사람으로 만들 수 없고

단지 하나님의 기쁘신 뜻 때문에 하나님께서 하나님의 영으로 합성하여 새 영/새 사람을 만드셔야 가능한 것이니

새 사람이 형성/합성되는 중생은 인간 스스로 다시 태어날 수도 없거니와 스스로 성령님과 결합할 수도 없으므로

니고데모처럼 진실하게, 사실현실을 간파할 냉철한 이성을 특채하여 인간 노력으로 중생은 불가라고 고백한다면

하나님께서 하나님의 선하시고 완전하시고 기뻐하신 뜻에 딱 맞는 해답해법을 제시하시고 이루시기도 하실 거다

“How are these things possible?” Nicodemus asked. 어떻게 이런 일들이 가능합니까?

The price of Christ is something, in a way, much easier than moral effort—it is to want Him.

예수님의 대가는, 어떤 면에서, 도덕적인 노력보다도 훨씬 쉬운 것인데 -- 그건 그분을 원하는 것이다

* 물론 원하니까 노력하여 얻자 하나 노력으로 얻을 수 없지만 진심으로 원하면 주실 것이니 '원함'이 중요하다

It is true that the wanting itself would be beyond our power but for one fact.

원함 자체는 우리 능력 밖의 일인 게 맞긴 하지만 그건 하나의 사실을 위한 것일뿐이다

* 원함이 능력 밖이라는 게 어불성설 같지만 원하는 것이 육신의 쾌락이 아닌 죄인이 싫어하는 하나님 그분이시라

거룩하신 분께 가까이 가면 죄가 드러나서 꺼림칙하기에 거부하게 되므로 은혜받은 죄인 말고는 원할 수조차 없다

세상은 너무나도 우리 자신의 만족을 유기하도록 돕기 위해 만들어진 결과, 그것들이 우리를 유기포기한다

전쟁과 곤란한 문제와 최후에는 늙음이 자연인인 자신/우리가 시작하는 시점에서 희망한 그런 모든 걸

하나씩 하나씩 우리에게서 앗아간다 즉 삶의 모든 문제들이 희망 사항을 하나하나 사라지게 만든다

* 전쟁이 터지면 평소에 당연한 것으로 알았던 생의 기본적인 것조차 어렵게 만드니 살 소망도 사라진다 

Begging is our only wisdom, and want in the end makes [it] [easier for us to be beggars].

구걸은 우리의 유일한 지혜이고 마지막으로 원하는 것은 우리가 거지가 되는 걸 쉽게 만든다

* 교만자에게 구걸은 자존심이 허락지 않으니 불가하나 여러 날 못 먹어 굶주리면 구걸은 저절로 나오듯

전 인생을 세상 물질로 채우고 채워도 못 채우고 죽음에 직면하면 결국 헛됨을 깨닫고 진실을 구걸한다

Even on those terms, the Mercy will receive us.

그런 조건하에서조차 자비는 우리를 영접할 것이다

* 전 인생을 헛것죄것을 추구하여 쌓고 채우다가 만족을 못 찾으니 인생막장에서 참회하고 자비를 원하는 건 

사실 늙은 방탕자처럼 허랑방탕을 회복할 시간도 부족하니 너무 뻔뻔하고 얄밉지만 자비는 상상을 초월인데

하나님의 자비는 예수님이신 건 죽을 죄인을 위해 십자가로 대속하시고 부활하심을 믿는 죄인을 구원하셔서

양자로 삼으시니 자비의 극치를 보이시나 자비만 구하고 자비 자체이신 예수님은 거부하면 받을 자비는 없다 

이에 일어나서 아버지께로 돌아가니라 아직도 거리가 먼데 

아버지가 그를 보고 측은히 여겨 달려가 목을 안고 입을 맞추니
아들이 이르되 아버지 내가 하늘과 아버지께 죄를 지었사오니

지금부터는 아버지의 아들이라 일컬음을 감당하지 못하겠나이다 하나
아버지는 종들에게 이르되 제일 좋은 옷을 내어다가 입히고 손에 가락지를 끼우고 발에 신을 신기라
그리고 살진 송아지를 끌어다가 잡으라 우리가 먹고 즐기자
이 내 아들은 죽었다가 다시 살아났으며 내가 잃었다가 다시 얻었노라 하니 그들이 즐거워하더라 (눅 15:20-24)
