Duke's Boozer signs with agent

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Duke's Carlos Boozer has signed with an agent, meaning the junior center definitely will not return to the Blue Devils.

A Duke official said Friday that Boozer has signed with sports agent Arn Tellem of SFX Sports. The decision means Boozer has lost his remaining year of college eligibility.

Boozer's decision was expected: He said at the beginning of last season that he intended to leave Duke at the end of his third year, along with Jason Williams.

Williams, the Associated Press national player of the year, announced Tuesday that he signed with agent Bill Duffy of BDA Sports Management.

The 6-foot-9, 280-pound Boozer averaged 18.2 points and 8.7 rebounds while making 66.5 percent of his shots last season. Duke reached the round of 16 before losing to Indiana.

Boozer has said he would take courses this summer to complete requirements he needed to graduate early with a sociology degree.
