The Avatamsaka Sutra, Purifying Practice (정행품 19-2)

[眞如華]

     19-2.

     若見大柱      當願衆生

     離我諍心      無有忿恨

     만약 큰 기둥을 볼 때에는

     마땅히 중생이

     나를 내세워 다투는 마음을 여의어서

     성내고 원망하는 마음이 없기를 원할지어다.

     If they see a big tree,

     They should wish that all beings

     Divorce egotistic contentiousness

     And be free of anger and resentment.

a big tree; 큰 기둥을

If they see; 만약 ~ 볼 때에는

all beings; 중생이

egotistic contentiousness; 나를 내세워 다투는 마음을

Divorce; 여의어서

anger and resentment; 성내고 원망하는 마음이

And be free; 없기를

They should wish that; 마땅히 ~ 원할지어다
