According to one interpretation, China is frustrated with the United States’ reluctance to cede it power at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, and so is attempting to usurp the United States’ economic leadership by creating its own institutions to rival the Bretton Woods institutions, starting with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The AIIB, according to its critics, will not be a true multilateral institution committed to common objectives. Instead it will be a vehicle for China to advance its own unilateral strategic objectives in Asia at the expense of the US.

<dt style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; float: left; width: 91px; font-size: 14px; font-weight: 600; color: rgb(34, 34, 34); text-align: center; background: url("/images/contents/bg_prev.gif") 100% 3px no-repeat;">첨부파일

<a target="_blank" href="http://csf.kiep.go.kr/file/download.do?fileId=7023" class="file" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 25px; border: 0px; color: rgb(85, 85, 85); font-size: 14px; display: inline-block; height: 14px; background: url("/images/board/bg_attachments.png") 0px 0px no-repeat;">The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank- Multilateralism on the Silk Road.pdf
