Caesarea Philippi and the Disasters of the Jewish People(Matthew 16:13~20)

  Jesus asked His disciples a question at Caesarea Philippi. People said He was John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets, but Peter confessed, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” This confession stood in contrast to why Judaism fell into disaster. Judaism didn’t recognize original sin and didn’t see that salvation can be found only in Christ. The law and religious systems could never bring salvation. As a result, many churches closed and the posterity walked on paths that led to disasters. Yet Jesus promised to build His church on the true confession, and the power of Hell would not overcome it. What you must hold onto is not religion but the Gospel, not human effort but God’s grace. 

1. Prophecies About Christ 
  The covenant of Genesis 3:15 was fulfilled through the evangelization of Egypt. Exodus 3: 18 was fulfilled in the deliverance from Egypt. Through the sacrifice of the lamb’s blood, God defeated the Philistines and prepared David. 1 Samuel 7:7~9 The promise of Immanuel in Isaiah 7:14 brought life to kings and people during the age of Babylon. Also, Peter’s simple confession in Matthew 16: 16 overcame the Jewish people. 

2. The Incarnate Christ 
  The incarnate Christ healed the sick and performed miracles. The greatest proof was His resurrection. As recorded in 1 Corinthians 15:20, He rose as the first fruit of resurrection. This isn't just a story of faith but a scientific fact and the source of hope that you too will share in resurrection one day. 

3. The Promises of Christ 
  Christ gave the promises of the absolute Bartizans, Journeys, and Guideposts. These promises are the path of evangelism and the method for revival. If you remain as a true disciple who seeks nothing from the church but holds to these words of promise, God will open the doors to the 5,000 tribes. 

  You must find your answers in worship and let God’s Word work in you as you understand the words of Jesus about not telling anyone of the secret. Representative witnesses of this include Jacob(Genesis 37:11), Moses(Exodus 3:1~20) and Daniel(Daniel 1:8~9).
