지금까지 하나님을 믿는 성도(聖徒)들이 범죄를 하게 되었던 것은, 실상 하나님에 대한 그들의 신앙이 어디까지나 관념적이요, 실감적이 아니었기 때문이다. 하나님의 존재성(存在性)을 실감하는 자리에서 범죄한 인간은 부득이 지옥(地獄)으로 보내질 수 밖에 없는 천법(天法)을 안다면, 거기에서 누가 감히 죄를 범할 수 있을 것인가?

그러므로 죄 없는 세계를 천국(天國)이라 할진대, 타락인간(墮落人間)이 오랜 역사의 기간을 두고 찾아 나온 이 세계야말로 바로 그 천국인 것이다. 그리고 이 천국은 지상의 현실세계에서 이루어지는 것이므로 지상천국(地上天國)이 되는 것이다.

우리는 이제 여기에서 하나님의 구원섭리(救援攝理)의 궁극적인 목적이 지상천국을 이루시려는 데 있다는 결론을 얻었다. 위에서 인간이 타락(墮落)되었다는 사실과 이 타락은 인간이 생성된 이후에 되어진 것이 아닐 수 없다는 사실을 밝힌 바 있거니와, 이제 하나님의 실재를 인정하는 입장에서 볼 때, 인간 시조가 타락하기 이전 창조본연(創造本然)의 세계에서 하나님이 이루려 하셨던 그 세계가 어떠한 것이었던가 하는 데 대한 답은 너무도 자명(自明)하다.

그에 관해서는 전편 제3장에서 논하겠거니와, 그 세계야말로 하나님의 창조목적(創造目的)이 이루어진 지상천국인 것이다. 그러나 인간은 타락됨으로 말미암아 이 세계를 이루지 못하고 죄악세계(罪惡世界)를 이루어 무지에 떨어졌기 때문에, 타락인간은 오랜 역사의 기간을 두고 내 외 양면의 진리를 더듬어 이 무지를 타개하면서 선(善)을 지향하여 부단히 하나님의 창조본연의 세계인 지상천국을 되찾아 나왔던 것이다.

우리는 여기에서 인류역사는 하나님의 창조목적(創造目的)을 완성한 세계를 복귀(復歸)하여 나아가는 섭리역사(攝理歷史)라는 사실을 알았다. 따라서 새 진리는 타락인간을 그 창조본연의 인간으로 돌아가게 하기 위하여, 하나님이 인간을 비롯한 피조세계를 창조하신 목적이 무엇이었던가 하는 것을 가르쳐 줌으로써, 복귀과정(復歸過程)에 있는 타락인간의 궁극적인 목적이 무엇인가를 알게 해야 한다.

今まで神を信ずる信徒たちが罪を犯すことがあったのは、実は、神に対する彼らの信仰が極めて観念的であり、実感を伴うものではなかったからである。神が存在するということを実感でとらえ、罪を犯せば人間は否応なしに地獄に引かれていかなければならないという天法を十分に知るなら、そういうところで、だれがあえて罪を犯すことができようか。

罪のない世界がすなわち天国であるというならば、堕落した人間が長い歴史の期間をかけて探し求めてきたそのような世界こそ、この天国でなければならないのである。そうして、この天国は、地上に現実世界として建設されるので、地上天国と呼ばれるのである。
 
ここにおいて、我々は、神の救いの摂理の究極的な目的が、地上天国を建設するところにあるという結論を得た。先に、人間が堕落しているという事実と、この堕落が、人間創造以後に起こったことでなければならないという事実を明らかにしたが、今、我々が神の実在を認識した立場から見ると、人間始祖が堕落する以前、創造本然の世界において、神が建設されようとした世界が、いかなるものであったかということに対する答えは、自明だといわなければならない。

そのことに関しては、前編第三章において論ずるはずであるが、その世界こそ神の創造目的が成就されるところの地上天国なのである。しかし人間は、堕落することによってこの世界をつくることができず、罪悪世界をつくり、無知に陥ってしまったために、堕落した人間は、長い歴史の期間をかけて、内外両面の真理を探し求め、無知を打開しつつ、善を指向し、絶えず神の創造本然の世界である地上天国を渇望してきたのである。

我々は、ここにおいて、人類の歴史は、神の創造目的を完成した世界に復帰していく摂理歴史であるという事実を知った。したがって、その新しい真理は、堕落人間が、その創造本然の人間へと帰っていくことができるように、神が人間をはじめとして、この被造世界を創造されたその目的はいったい何であったかということを教え、復帰過程の途上にある堕落人間の究極的な目的が、いったい何であるかということを知らしめるものでなければならない。

The reason why people who believe in God continue to commit sins is because their faith in God has been merely conceptual. It has not touched their innermost feelings. Who among them would ever dare to commit sin if they experienced God in the depths of their being?

Would they not tremble if they felt the reality of the heavenly law that those who commit crimes cannot escape the destiny of hell? The world without sin which has just been described, this long-sought goal of humankind, may be called the Kingdom of Heaven. Since this world is to be established on the earth, it may be called the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
 
We can conclude that the ultimate purpose of God’s work of salvation is to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. It was explained above that human beings fell, and that this fall took place after the human race originated. If we accept the existence of God, then it is obvious what kind of world God originally wanted to realize before the fall of the first human ancestors. It suffices to say that this world was to be the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, wherein God’s purpose of creation would bear fruit.
 
Due to the Fall, human beings failed to establish this world. Instead, they fell into ignorance and built a sinful world. Since then, fallen human beings have unceasingly struggled to restore the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, the world God originally intended to create. Over the long course of history, they have sought for truth, both internal and external, and have strived to pursue goodness.

Thus, behind human history is God’s providence to restore a world where the purpose of God’s creation is fulfilled. Accordingly, the new truth should guide fallen human beings to return to their original state. To do this, it must reveal the purpose for which God created humankind and the universe, and teach about the process of their restoration and its ultimate goal.
