Jazz Christmas show celebrates its 23rd anniversary!
Christmas Carol meets Jazz-
“He captures both familiarity and freshness with Christmas carols.”
Ronn Branton Jazz Christmas!'
- has set the record of the longest lasting jazz concert in Korea as a single brand
- presents the Christmas season in a Jazz groove that can be enjoyed by everyone!
'Jazz Christmas!' was first performed in 2001. Branton began to hold an annual jazz Christmas concert in celebration of the holiday season; and every year for the past 22 years, he has created new arrangements of classical Christmas carols and songs to share with his Korean audience.
“People never really celebrated Christmas when I first came here,” said Branton, “so, I started doing this Christmas show as my way of celebrating the season away from family.”
Branton and his group has been performing every year since then at major theatres in Korea and in 2023, it celebrates its 22nd anniversary, setting the record of the longest lasting jazz concert in Korea.
Ronn Branton features Christmas carols that are enjoyed by people all over the world, American Christmas songs that Americans have grown up with, and Korean winter songs that Koreans have enjoyed since childhood. This show sells out every year.
Known as ‘a very poetic pianist’, Ronn Branton’s performance is very thoughtful and delicate. Once starting to listen to him playing, people get stuck in his magical power and cannot move until the music is over.
This year, he will have Manuel Weyand on drums, Sean Pentland/Kyungjin Lim on bass, Hachul Song/Martin Jacobson on saxophone, Jumi Lee on vocal.
