고린도후서 2:14-17

항상 우리를 그리스도 안에서 이기게 하시고 우리로 말미암아 각처에서 그리스도를 아는 냄새를 나타내시는 하나님께 감사하노라. 우리는 구원 얻는 자들에게나 망하는 자들에게나 하나님 앞에서 그리스도의 향기니, 이 사람에게는 사망으로 좇아 사망에 이르는 냄새요 저 사람에게는 생명으로 좇아 생명에 이르는 냄새라. 누가 이것을 감당하리요. 우리는 수다한 사람과 같이 하나님의 말씀을 혼잡하게 하지 아니하고, 곧 순전함으로 하나님께 받은 것 같이 하나님 앞에서와 그리스도 안에서 말하노라.

예수님께서는 성령을 통하여 우리로 사탄의 유혹과 죄를 이기게 하십니다. 성령께서는 우리에게 그리스도의 말씀을 생각나게 하시고, 그 말씀에 순종할 힘을 주시며, 우리가 죄를 범할 때마다 죄를 깨닫게 하여 회개하게 하십니다. 진실로 회개하는 자는 언제나 예수님의 피로 깨끗함을 받습니다.

이 복음이 곧 그리스도의 향기입니다. 이 복음을 믿고 순종하는 자들에게는 생명에 이르는 향기가 되지만, 불순종하는 자들에게는 사망에 이르는 향기가 됩니다. 그리스도의 약속의 말씀은 순종하는 자들에게는 생명의 향기가 되고, 불순종하는 자들에게는 사망의 향기가 됩니다. 구원과 심판을 가르는 절대적인 기준이 오직 예수 그리스도의 말씀이기 때문입니다.

그러나 수많은 사람들이 하나님의 말씀을 혼잡하게 만듭니다. 인간의 지식과 생각을 성경 말씀에 더하고, 인간이 만든 교리로 성경의 진리를 왜곡하고 오염시킵니다. 오염된 복음을 따르는 자들은 진리의 말씀에 불순종하면서도 자신의 죄를 회개하지 않습니다. 그 결과 무수한 교인들이 심판을 받고 멸망의 길로 가는 것입니다.

하나님의 말씀을 혼잡하게 만들지 말라. 그리스도의 말씀에 복종하라. 그 말씀을 따라 모든 죄를 회개하라. 신앙생활의 절대적인 기준은 오직 예수님의 말씀입니다. 사는 것과 죽는 것이 예수님의 말씀에 달려 있습니다. 공의로운 그 말씀이 생명과 사망을 판정하는 절대적인 기준입니다.

비록 부족할지라도 끝까지 순종하기를 힘쓰십시오. 주님께서는 순종하기를 힘쓰며 진실로 회개하는 자를 긍휼히 여기십니다. 예수님은 하나님이십니다. 그리스도의 피는 하나님의 피이기 때문에 진실로 회개하는 모든 자를 깨끗하게 하실 능력이 있습니다. 그러나 입으로만 회개하고 삶에서 죄를 버리지 않는 회개는 거짓된 회개입니다.

삶의 변화를 통하여 진실로 회개하는 자들은 죄 사함을 받고 천국에 가는 것입니다. 세상에 완전한 사람은 하나도 없습니다. 그러나 자신의 부족함과 죄를 깨닫고, 삶 속에서 죄를 버리며 진실로 회개하고 순종하기를 힘쓰는 자들은 하나님의 긍휼하심을 받고 의로운 자로 인정받습니다. 끝까지 회개하고 주님의 말씀에 순종하며 사는 것, 이것이 천국에 가는 길입니다.

2 Corinthians 2:14-17

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ everywhere. For we are the fragrance of Christ to God, both among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one, it is the fragrance of death leading to death; to the other, it is the fragrance of life leading to life. Who is sufficient for these things? We do not distort the word of God as many do, but we speak with sincerity, as from God, in the presence of God and in Christ.

Jesus enables us to overcome the temptations of Satan and sin through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit reminds us of the word of Christ, gives us the strength to obey that word, and brings us to the realization of our sin whenever we commit it, leading us to repentance. Those who truly repent are always cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

This gospel is the fragrance of Christ. To those who believe and obey this gospel, it becomes a fragrance leading to life, but to those who disobey, it becomes a fragrance leading to death. The word of Christ's promise becomes the fragrance of life to those who obey, and the fragrance of death to those who disobey. This is because the absolute standard distinguishing salvation from judgment is solely the word of Jesus Christ.

However, countless people confuse the word of God. They add human knowledge and thoughts to the Scriptures, and distort and pollute the truth of the Bible with man-made doctrines. Those who follow a corrupted gospel disobey the word of truth yet do not repent of their sins. As a result, countless believers face judgment and walk the path of destruction.

Do not confuse the word of God. Obey the word of Christ. Repent of all your sins by following that word. The absolute standard of the life of faith is solely the word of Jesus. Life and death depend on the word of Jesus. That righteous word is the absolute standard that determines life and death.

Strive to obey to the end, even if you are lacking. The Lord has mercy on those who strive to obey and truly repent. Jesus is God. Because the blood of Christ is the blood of God, it has the power to cleanse all who truly repent. However, repentance that is done only with the mouth without abandoning sin in one's life is false repentance.

Those who truly repent through a change in their lives receive forgiveness of sins and go to Heaven. There is not a single perfect person in this world. However, those who realize their shortcomings and sins, abandon sin in their lives, and strive to truly repent and obey receive God's mercy and are recognized as righteous. Repenting to the very end and living in obedience to the Lord's word—this is the way to Heaven.
