The historical death of the cross and resurrection of Christ are great events, such as the culmination of the gospel.
As a result, we, who died in Adam, died together with Christ, became free from sin, and became a new creation united with Christ as a living being with Christ.
"Now if Christ is preached that he rose from the dead, why say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?" (1 Corinthians 15:12)
The resurrection of Christ focuses on the resurrection of those who died in Adam.
It means that Christ, who rose again from the grave, is always alive as resurrection and life in us who died in sins and trespasses in Adam.
The reality of the saints' resurrection is that those who died in death in Adam live again because they receive Christ as their Lord.
And later there is a resurrection which our vile body shall be changed into a glorious body.
To put it simply, it means that the seed comes to life first,, and then its shape changes after it is completed.
But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen.(1 Corinthians 15:13)
Christ Himself is the very resurrection and life (John 11:25).
The Lord is the Son of God who has eternal life from the beginning.
The Lord Jesus Christ, who has the life of God, died on the cross and rose to become a resurrected body whose form is changed.
In fact, it says that Jesus is resurrected, but he died as Jesus and rose again as Christ.
Therefore, he is not saying that Jesus is alive again, he is saying that Christ is alive again.
“And if Christ is not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain” (1 Corinthians 15:14).
Faith of the resurrection includes believing in the historical fact of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and present faith in the fact that the Lord, who is resurrection and life, is present in me.
A vain faith that it is vain is a faith that has the concept that it will be so.
A living faith, an living and abiding faith, arises from the moment God's grace is applied.
Faith is a gift from God, and this gift is practical.
All people have the faith of common trust.
For example, flying a plane and living in a high-rise apartment are proof that you already live by faith.
However, the faith in the resurrection should not be like this. If there is, there is, and if there is no, there is no.
If the gospel preached is vain, then faith is also vain.
But if the truth that is preached is living, then the faith is also a living faith.
The faith that believes in the historical resurrection of Jesus Christ and the fact that he lives in me as the Son of the living God is living faith.
Again, Calvin said that if Christ is not in us, all that He did when He came to earth has no effect on us.
Christ is eternally immortal and extant (John 1:1).
In fact, He doesn't even need the word resurrection.
He himself is the very resurrection and life (John 11:25).
That's why the Bible expresses that he 'resurrected, or rose'.
Resurrection is absolutely necessary for us who died in Adam because of sin.
The resurrection from the dead means that the Christ who is in us becomes our resurrection in us (John 11:25, Rom. 8:10).
Therefore, by hearing the gospel and believing in it, we must always allow Him to work in us as a living, active power (Hebrews 4:12).
If this is not the case, and all we hope for is this life lived by the struggling of the flesh, we are most pitiful christians of all people (1 Corinthians 15:19).
What was the purpose of raised Christ? (1 Corinthians 15:15-16)
It is the dead are raised. which the dead are raised is in the present tense and passive.
The Christ in us is the Savior of resurrection and life.
He is the Lord who resurrects us through resurrection and makes us live forever with life.
For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either" (1 Corinthians 15:16).
It speaks of Paul's subjective experience of Christ being resurrection and life.
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain and you are still in your sins" (ver.17)
If there was no resurrection, we would still be in sin.
If Christ, who is the resurrection and life, is not in us, regeneration, righteousness, holiness, and glory are all outside, and we are still in a dead state.
But Paul defines the resurrection of the dead as being dead to sin and living to God in Christ (Rom. 6:11).
The Bible says that resurrection faith is being buried with Christ through baptism, ending the body of sin, living again in Christ, gaining new life, being washed of regeneration, and being renewed in the Holy Spirit.
Because we died with Christ and rose again with Christ, the law of sin and death is broken, and we are freed from sin and death by the law of the Spirit of life (Romans 8:1-2).
Therefore, resurrection, regeneration, forgiveness of sins, and holiness are one.
In fact, Jesus is respected by other religions, Muhammad also acknowledges Jesus as a prophet, and Mormons also believe in Jesus and acknowledge and honor him as the Son of God.
However, there are many anti-Christians who deny Christ to has come in the flesh.
Anti-Christs who deny the presence of Christ in them also become anti-resurrection Christians.
If there is no resurrection to raised in Christ, “also, those who have fallen asleep in Christ are perished” (1 Corinthians 15:18).
Those who sleep are those whose bodies are dead, that is, those whose bodies have returned to the dust.
Jesus said that Lazarus had fallen asleep and said, 'Let's go wake him up'.
David also said that when your days were fulfilled and you slept with your ancestors (2 Sam. 7:12), or when David lay down and slept with your ancestors, he was buried in the City of David (1 Kings 2:10).
People see David's grave and say he died, but the Bible says that David fell asleep while serving God's will (Acts 13:36).
So death and sleep are different.
Death refers to perishment outside of Christ, and sleep refers to eternal rest in Christ.
The mummy of the Ancient Near East is the benchmark for the idea of resurrection.
It must have meant resting until they came back to life as mummies.
If resurrection and life do not exist in you, the body is afraid of dying and shouts, “Jesus is Resurrected,” but the resurrection is outside and promises only the resurrection of the body to come, and as if the resurrection was purchased in installments, while you are alive If we only have a dead faith that pays well in installments, we are the most pitiful of all people (1 Corinthians 15:19).
We will not see the glory of salvation through the present power of resurrection, but will leave the world in futility and embarrassment, holding on to the mummy-like hope of resurrection.
If so, since what we currently hope for is only this world, we end up becoming more pitiful among all people.
