The Missions That Finds Prepared Souls(Joshua 2:1~15)

  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; Do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.“(11)

  Meetings with those who carry out the Gospel bear true answers. Because of meetings that block the Gospel, the posterity has now fallen into disasters. The meeting between the two spies and Rahab in today’s passage was considered missions and a true answer. God told the Israelites to be strong, not to fear, not to be discouraged, not to be alarmed, and that He has already given it to them(Joshua 1:1~9). Yet the Jordan River, Jericho, the battle against the Amorites, and the hill country of the Anakim still remained. At the time, 7 tribes and 31 kings were occupying Canaan. This was when the two spies entered Rahab’s house. After a Gospel-centered meeting, an evangelism meeting, or a missions meeting takes place, three things absolutely take place.

1. The Turning Point that Changed History(The Prepared Person)
  Rahab hiding the spies itself was God’s work(Joshua 2:1~7). She gave the spies news that would encourage and strengthen Joshua. She heard only the rumors yet understood the covenant. So, she asked for her life to be spared and received a sign(Joshua 2:12~13).

2. The Time Schedule of the Fulfillment of the Living Word(Disciple)
  Rahab heard the stories from Israel’s 40 years in the wilderness and came to know that the Lord was the true God. She was a disciple who heard rumors about what happened at the Red Sea and what occurred along the path of the Ark of the Covenant.

3. The Meeting that Will Save the World(Committed Worker)
  Rahab entered Canaan together with the Israelites. Later, she married Salmon and gave birth to Boaz. Boaz became the father of Obed, Obed became the father of Jesse, and Jesse became the father of David. Through this family line came Jesus Christ.

  When reading the Bible, you’ll come across certain blessings of meetings that seem impossible to understand. All these meetings were evangelism and missions. Joseph’s meeting with the slave traders and Martin Luther’s meeting with the church officer who hid him were the same. To save the 237 nations and the 5000 tribes, you must not be shaken. You simply need to go holding onto the covenant. You don’t need to calculate whether it’ll work or not.You only need to hold firmly to the covenant and the relationship you have with God.

Amid praying throughout this week, may all the forces of darkness and disasters that block the Gospel be bound. May the doors to the 237 missions of relaying the Gospel be opened. May those gathered here holding onto Your covenant be blessed 10 million fold. Please bless us to raise 10 million disciples. In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.
