고린도후서 3:13-18 우리는 모세가 이스라엘 자손들로 장차 없어질 것의 결국을 주목하지 못하게 하려고 수건을 그 얼굴에 쓴 것 같이 아니하노라. 그러나 저희 마음이 완고하여 오늘까지라도 구약을 읽을 때에 그 수건이 오히려 벗어지지 아니하고 있으니, 그 수건은 그리스도 안에서 없어질 것이라. 오늘까지 모세의 글을 읽을 때에 수건이 오히려 그 마음을 덮었도다. 그러나 언제든지 주께로 돌아가면 그 수건이 벗어지리라. 주는 영이시니 주의 영이 계신 곳에는 자유함이 있느니라. 우리가 다 수건을 벗은 얼굴로 거울을 보는 것 같이 주의 영광을 보매 저와 같은 형상으로 화하여 영광으로 영광에 이르니, 곧 주의 영으로 말미암음이니라.

모세가 하나님으로부터 십계명의 돌판을 받아 산에서 내려왔을 때 그의 얼굴에서 광채가 났습니다. 그러나 이를 바라보던 백성들은 하나님의 위대하심과 영광을 바라보기보다 모세 개인을 위대하게 생각하였습니다. 이러한 잘못된 생각을 막기 위해 모세는 그의 얼굴에 수건을 썼습니다.

구약의 율법은 하나님의 말씀이기 때문에 영광스러운 광채가 있었습니다. 그러나 장차 그보다 더 좋고 더욱 영광스러운 예수님의 약속의 말씀이 옵니다. 예수님의 그림자였던 구약의 율법은 한시적으로 사용되다가 실체이신 예수님이 오심으로 그 역할을 마치게 된 것입니다. 그러나 성경을 읽으면서도 이 말씀의 뜻을 깨닫지 못하는 자들이 많습니다.

이러한 그리스도인들은 구약시대에 하나님의 영광을 바라보지 않고 모세의 얼굴만 바라보던 자들과 같습니다. 피조물을 위대하게 생각하는 것을 막기 위해 모세는 그의 얼굴에 수건을 썼습니다. 이제 율법보다 더 위대하신 예수님이 오셨습니다. 그러므로 이제는 예수님을 바라보고 예수님의 말씀에 순종해야 하는 시대입니다.

우리는 영원히 계시는 예수님의 얼굴을 바라보아야 합니다. 그런데 아직도 구약의 수건을 쓰고 예수님을 온전히 바라보지 못하는 자들이 많습니다. 구약 성경은 장차 예수님이 오실 것을 말씀하였습니다. 구약의 율법은 예수님을 가리키는 그림자였습니다. 이제 구약의 안식일과 제사들은 폐하여졌습니다.

예수님 홀로 영원한 대제사장이시며, 친히 제물이 되셨고, 우리의 중보자가 되십니다. 이제는 예수님의 말씀에 순종하고, 예수님께 회개하며, 오직 예수님의 피로 죄 씻음을 받아야 합니다.

예수님은 인간의 육체를 입고 오신 창조주 하나님이십니다. 창조주는 한 분이십니다. 창조주께서 인간을 구원하시기 위해 육체를 입고 이 땅에 오셔서 죽으시고 부활하시고 천국에 올라가셨습니다. 그리고 그 하나님께서 성령으로 다시 오셔서 예수 그리스도가 누구이신지를 깨닫게 하시며 우리를 구원으로 인도하십니다.

인간이 만든 교리나 사상을 통해 예수님을 바라보지 마십시오. 그러한 것들은 도리어 예수님을 올바르게 알지 못하게 하는 것이다. 진리를 가로막고 있는 수건을 벗어 버리십시오. 정직한 마음으로 성경을 읽고, 기록된 말씀에 그대로 순종하고 회개십시오.

하나님은 한 분이십니다. 예수님이 하나님이십니다. 예수님의 말씀에 순종하고 죄를 회개하십시오. 서로 용서하고 이해하고 화평을 이루어야 하는 것이다, 오직 예수 그리스도를 바라보고 끝까지 그의 말씀에 순종하는 것이 천국에 가는 길입니다. 인간의 교리는 진리를 바라볼 수 없게 하는 수건이다.

2 Corinthians 3:13-18

We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel would not see the end of what is to come. But their hearts were hardened, so to this day when they read the Old Testaments, the veil remains unlifted. The veil will be removed in Christ. To this day when they read the writings of Moses, the veil still covers their hearts. But whenever they turn to the Lord, the veil will be removed. For the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled faces, beholding the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, by the Spirit of the Lord.

* When Moses came down from the mountain with the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments from God, his face shone with radiance. However, the people who were watching this thought Moses was great as an individual rather than beholding God's greatness and glory. To prevent such wrong thinking, Moses put a veil over his face.

Because the Law of the Old Testament was the Word of God, it possessed a glorious radiance. However, the promised Word of Jesus, which is better and even more glorious than that, is coming. The Law of the Old Testament, which was a shadow of Jesus, was used for a limited time, but with the coming of Jesus, the reality, its role has come to an end. Yet, there are many who read the Bible but fail to grasp the meaning of this message.

Such Christians are like those in the Old Testament era who looked only at the face of Moses, rather than at the glory of God. Moses covered his face with a veil to prevent people from thinking of the created as great. Now, Jesus, who is greater than the Law, has come. Therefore, this is now an era in which we must look to Jesus and obey His words.

We must look upon the face of Jesus, who exists forever. However, there are still many who cannot fully look at Jesus while wearing the veil of the Old Testament. The Old Testament Scriptures spoke of the coming of Jesus. The Law of the Old Testament was a shadow pointing to Jesus. Now, the Sabbaths and sacrifices of the Old Testament have been abolished.

Jesus alone is the eternal High Priest, He Himself became the sacrifice, and He is our Mediator. Now, we must obey Jesus’ words, repent to Him, and receive the cleansing of our sins solely through His blood.

Jesus is the Creator God who came clothed in human flesh. There is only one Creator. To save humanity, the Creator came to this earth clothed in flesh, died, resurrected, and ascended to Heaven. And that God returns with the Holy Spirit to help us realize who Jesus Christ is and to lead us to salvation.

Do not look to Jesus through man-made doctrines or ideologies. Such things actually prevent us from knowing Jesus correctly. Cast off the veil that blocks the truth. Read the Bible with an honest heart, obey the written word exactly as it is, and repent.

God is one. Jesus is God. Obey Jesus’ words and repent of your sins. We must forgive, understand, and reconcile with one another. Looking only to Jesus Christ and obeying His words to the end is the way to Heaven. Man-made doctrines are a veil that prevents us from seeing the truth.
