32. “bite the bullet”
Example: M: I'm dead! W: Why? M: I just got my report and when my mom see it, I'm dead! W: There's nothing you can do. You got to bite the bullet on this one.
Definition: Bite
the bullet
means to endure a difficult situation and to Explanation: This idiom originated when soldiers during battle sometimes had to get an operation right in the line of fire. Or if the medication ran out during the battle, the soldiers were given a bullet to bite on as the doctor operated on them. The idea was same as the time in Korea when Korean women were given sticks to bite when giving birth.
