디모데전서 - 5장

1 늙은이를 꾸짖지 말고 권하되 아비에게 하듯하며 젊은이를 형제에게 하듯하고
2 늙은 여자를 어미에게 하듯하며 젊은 여자를 일절 깨끗함으로 자매에게 하듯 하라
3 참 과부인 과부를 경대하라
4 만일 어떤 과부에게 자녀나 손자들이 있거든 저희로 먼저 자기 집에서 효를 행하여 부모에게 보답하기를 배우게 하라 이것이 하나님 앞에 받으실 만한 것이니라
5 참 과부로서 외로운 자는 하나님께 소망을 두어 주야로 항상 간구와 기도를 하거니와
6 일락을 좋아하는 이는 살았으나 죽었느니라
7 네가 또한 이것을 명하여 그들로 책망 받을 것이 없게 하라
8 누구든지 자기 친족 특히 자기 가족을 돌아보지 아니하면 믿음을 배반한 자요 불신 자보다 더 악한 자니라
9 과부로 명부에 올릴 자는 나이 육십이 덜 되지 아니하고 한 남편의 아내이었던 자로서
10 선한 행실의 증거가 있어 혹은 자녀를 양육하며 혹은 나그네를 대접하며 혹은 성도들의 발을 씻기며 혹은 환난 당한 자들을 구제하며 혹은 모든 선한 일을 좇은 자라야 할것이요
11 젊은 과부는 거절하라 이는 정욕으로 그리스도를 배반할 때에 시집가고자 함이니
12 처음 믿음을 저버렸으므로 심판을 받느니라
13 또 저희가 게으름을 익혀 집집에 돌아다니고 게으를뿐 아니라 망령된 폄론을 하며 일을 만들며 마땅히 아니할 말을 하나니
14 그러므로 젊은이는 시집가서 아이를 낳고 집을 다스리고 대적에게 훼방할 기회를 조금도 주지 말기를 원하노라
15 이미 사단에게 돌아간 자들도 있도다
16 만일 믿는 여자에게 과부 친척이 있거든 자기가 도와주고 교회로 짐지지 말게 하라 이는 참 과부를 도와주게 하려 함이니라
17 잘 다스리는 장로들을 배나 존경할 자로 알되 말씀과 가르침에 수고하는 이들을 더할 것이니라
18 성경에 일렀으되 곡식을 밟아 떠는 소의 입에 망을 씌우지 말라 하였고 또 일군이 그 삯을 받는 것이 마땅하다 하였느니라
19 장로에 대한 송사는 두 세 증인이 없으면 받지 말 것이요
20 범죄한 자들을 모든 사람 앞에 꾸짖어 나머지 사람으로 두려워하게 하라
21 하나님과 그리스도 예수와 택하심을 받은 천사들 앞에서 내가 엄히 명하노니 너는 편견이 없이 이것들을 지켜 아무 일도 편벽되이 하지 말며
22 아무에게나 경솔히 안수하지 말고 다른 사람의 죄에 간섭지 말고 네 자신을 지켜 정결케 하라
23 이제부터는 물만 마시지 말고 네 비위와 자주 나는 병을 인하여 포도주를 조금씩 쓰라
24 어떤 사람들의 죄는 밝히 드러나 먼저 심판에 나아가고 어떤 사람들의 죄는 그 뒤를 좇나니
25 이와 같이 선행도 밝히 드러나고 그렇지 아니한 것도 숨길 수 없느니라

テモテへの手紙一 - 第5章

1 老人をとがめてはいけない。むしろ父親に対するように、話してあげなさい。若い男には兄弟に対するように、
2 年とった女には母親に対するように、若い女には、真に純潔な思いをもって、姉妹に対するように、勧告しなさい。
3 やもめについては、真にたよりのないやもめたちを、よくしてあげなさい。
4 やもめに子か孫かがある場合には、これらの者に、まず自分の家で孝養をつくし、親の恩に報いることを学ばせるべきである。それが、神のみこころにかなうことなのである。
5 真にたよりのない、ひとり暮しのやもめは、望みを神において、日夜、たえず願いと祈とに専心するが、
6 これに反して、みだらな生活をしているやもめは、生けるしかばねにすぎない。
7 これらのことを命じて、彼女たちを非難のない者としなさい。
8 もしある人が、その親族を、ことに自分の家族をかえりみない場合には、その信仰を捨てたことになるのであって、不信者以上にわるい。
9 やもめとして登録さるべき者は、六十歳以下のものではなくて、ひとりの夫の妻であった者、
10 また子女をよく養育し、旅人をもてなし、聖徒の足を洗い、困っている人を助け、種々の善行に努めるなど、そのよいわざでひろく認められている者でなければならない。
11 若いやもめは除外すべきである。彼女たちがキリストにそむいて気ままになると、結婚をしたがるようになり、
12 初めの誓いを無視したという非難を受けねばならないからである。
13 その上、彼女たちはなまけていて、家々を遊び歩くことをおぼえ、なまけるばかりか、むだごとをしゃべって、いたずらに動きまわり、口にしてはならないことを言う。
14 そういうわけだから、若いやもめは結婚して子を産み、家をおさめ、そして、反対者にそしられるすきを作らないようにしてほしい。
15 彼女たちのうちには、サタンのあとを追って道を踏みはずした者もある。
16 女の信者が家にやもめを持っている場合には、自分でそのやもめの世話をしてあげなさい。教会のやっかいになってはいけない。教会は、真にたよりのないやもめの世話をしなければならない。
17 よい指導をしている長老、特に宣教と教とのために労している長老は、二倍の尊敬を受けるにふさわしい者である。
18 聖書は、「穀物をこなしている牛に、くつこをかけてはならない」また「働き人がその報酬を受けるのは当然である」と言っている。
19 長老に対する訴訟は、ふたりか三人の証人がない場合には、受理してはならない。
20 罪を犯した者に対しては、ほかの人々も恐れをいだくに至るために、すべての人の前でその罪をとがむべきである。
21 わたしは、神とキリスト・イエスと選ばれた御使たちとの前で、おごそかにあなたに命じる。これらのことを偏見なしに守り、何事についても、不公平な仕方をしてはならない。
22 軽々しく人に手をおいてはならない。また、ほかの人の罪に加わってはいけない。自分をきよく守りなさい。
23 （これからは、水ばかりを飲まないで、胃のため、また、たびたびのいたみを和らげるために、少量のぶどう酒を用いなさい。）
24 ある人の罪は明白であって、すぐ裁判にかけられるが、ほかの人の罪は、あとになってわかって来る。
25 それと同じく、良いわざもすぐ明らかになり、そうならない場合でも、隠れていることはあり得ない。

1 Timothy - Chapter 5

1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
3 Honour widows that are widows indeed.
4 But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
7 And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.
8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
9 Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,
10 Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
11 But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.
16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
24 Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
25 Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
