Last Week: 1 | Drafted: 1 Rose averaged 21.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists in three games last week and the Bulls would have gone undefeated if it wasn't for that meddlesome Dwyane Wade. Rose played a leg-numbing 55 minutes in the double-overtime bout against Miami. The more often he comes up big in Chicago's quest to hang on to the No. 8 seed in the East, the more separation he'll create between himself and the rest of the rookie field.

Last Week: 2 | Drafted: 4 With Kevin Durant out of the lineup and Jeff Green not returning until Tuesday's win over the Kings, Westbrook has taken over the Thunder and put them on his considerable shoulders. Oklahoma City won three out of four last week and the first-year point guard made his mark on each victory - racking up eight assists against the Wizards, seven rebounds against the Sixers and 22 points against the Kings. Although his shooting percentage has drastically improved as the season has gone on, one thing remaining for Westbrook to work on is cutting down on his turnovers. He had 20 miscues in four games last week.

Last Week: 4 | Drafted: 10 Breaking up the guard heavy Four Horsemen of Rookie Fame - Rose, Westbrook, O.J. Mayo and Eric Gordon - is Lopez who, quite simply, needs to be better utilized in New Jersey. Part of the problem is Lopez's fault, as he has struggled staying out of foul trouble, but he isn't getting the amount of shot attempts a guy shooting 52.2 percent from the field should be getting.

Last Week: 3 | Drafted: 3 Mayo's stretch of consecutive games failing to shoot 50 percent or better from the field has extended to 14 games. Mayo nearly got on the schneid in L.A., scoring 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting in a win over the Clippers, but he went right back to going 9-for-25 in his next two games combined."It's going to be like that ... sometimes it's a long season," Mayo told me. "As a rookie, playing 40 minutes plus a game, I think we're at game 54 now or somewhere around there, your body has to adjust. This is the first time playing this many games in this short period of time."

Last Week: 5 | Drafted: 7 Gordon came back after missing four straight games with a left shoulder strain to torch the Pacers for 35 points, but followed that performance with just 14 points against the Cavaliers on Tuesday as the Indiana product shot 0-for-4 from three and had a costly turnover late in the game as the Clippers surrendered a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter to lose the game. It will be important to watch how Gordon closes out the season now that himself, Baron Davis, Al Thornton, Zach Randolph, Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman are all healthy at the same time. We can get a sense of what Gordon's role will be with the team with all the pieces in place.

Last Week: 6 | Drafted: 2 If you haven't read Jackie MacMullan's piece on Dwyane Wade's comeback season yet, please do. It's one of the five best stories written about the league this year without a doubt. In it, you'll find this gem of a quote from Pat Riley about Beasley: "If Beasley averaged 30 minutes a night, he'd score 24 points a game. If he played 40 minutes, he'd lead the league in scoring. Now, he might give up 30 on the other end. There's a lot of things right there, but a lot of things wrong, too.'' Beasley backed up Riles' claim with 28 points in 27 minutes against the Suns last week.

Last Week: 8 | Drafted: 48 by L.A. Lakers in 2007 What a week for Gasol. The former MVP of the Spanish ACB League, considered by many to be the best league in the world outside of the NBA, averaged 22.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.7 blocks in three games last week. That's the type of stat line you see from former NBA MVP Dirk Nowitzki, only Gasol gets you more blocks.

Last Week: 7 | Drafted: 5 Love didn't just gain more playing time when Al Jefferson went down to season-ending surgery, he gained a coach too. Jefferson has taken Love under his wing since he's been watching instead of playing, dissecting Love's games in his free time and offering bits of advice to the rookie whenever he can. It's helping. Love had two double-doubles last week, his sixth and seventh in the 13 games since Jefferson got injured.

Last Week: 10 | Drafted: 9 Augustin went just 1-for-1 from the field against the Knicks last week but ended up with 13 points for the game by going a perfect 11-for-11 from the foul line. His Bobcats, trying to catch Rose's Bulls for the No. 8 seed in the East, trail Chicago by just a game.
