갈라디아서 3:26-29 너희가 다 믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 아들이 되었으니 누구든지 그리스도와 합하여 세례를 받은 자는 그리스도로 옷입었느니라 너희는 유대인이나 헬라인이나 종이나 자주자나 남자나 여자 없이 다 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나이니라 너희가 그리스도께 속한 자면 곧 아브라함의 자손이요 약속대로 유업을 이을 자니라

누구든지 예수를 믿으면 하나님의 아들이 됩니다. 그리스도와 합하여 세례를 받은 자는 그리스도로 옷 입은 자입니다. 유대인이나 이방인이나, 종이나 자유인이나, 남자나 여자나 차별 없이 모두 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나가 됩니다. 그리스도께 속한 자는 아브라함의 자손이요, 하나님의 약속을 따라 천국을 유업으로 받을 자입니다.

예수를 믿는다는 것은 예수님의 말씀을 믿는 것이며, 예수님의 말씀을 믿는다는 것은 그 말씀에 순종하는 것입니다. 예수님의 말씀에 순종한다는 것은 예수님만이 유일한 구원자이심을 믿고, 그분의 말씀을 따라 서로 용서하고 사랑하며 사는 것입니다. 입술로만 예수를 구원자라고 고백하면서 그분의 말씀에는 불순종한다면 그것은 참된 믿음이 아니라 가짜 믿음입니다.

예수와 합하여 세례를 받고 그리스도로 옷 입는다는 것은 단순히 물세례를 받는 것만을 뜻하지 않습니다. 예수님께서 사셨던 것처럼 하나님의 나라와 의를 위해 사는 것이며, 그 길에서 핍박을 받을지라도 주님을 따라가는 것입니다. 예수님의 뜻에 순종하며 사는 것이 예수님 안에 거하는 삶입니다.

예수님의 말씀에 순종하고 자신의 죄를 회개하는 자들이 참된 아브라함의 자손입니다. 예수님을 배척하고 핍박했던 자들 가운데서도 자신들은 아브라함의 자손이라고 주장하는 자들이 있었습니다. 그러나 혈통과 형식만으로는 참된 아브라함의 자손이 될 수 없습니다.

하나님의 말씀에 불순종하면서 단지 아브라함의 혈통이라는 사실만 의지하는 것은 아무 소용이 없습니다. 마찬가지로 오늘날 교회에 다니고 입술로 믿음을 고백한다는 이유만으로 참된 믿음을 가진 것이 아닙니다. 하나님의 말씀을 거역하면서 외적인 신앙의 형식만 붙잡는 믿음은 하나님 앞에서 아무 가치가 없습니다.

마태복음 3장 9절

속으로 아브라함이 우리 조상이라고 생각하지 말라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 하나님이 능히 이 돌들로도 아브라함의 자손이 되게 하시리라

혈통을 자랑하지 말아야 합니다. 종교적인 형식을 자랑하지 말아야 합니다. 교회에 다닌다는 사실만을 의지해서도 안 됩니다. 하나님께서는 길가의 돌들로도 아브라함의 자손이 되게 하실 수 있습니다.

중요한 것은 내가 누구의 자손이라고 말하는 것이 아니라, 내가 진실로 그리스도께 속한 자인가 하는 것입니다. 예수님의 말씀을 믿고 순종하며, 죄를 회개하고, 서로 용서하고 사랑하며 살아야 합니다. 이것이 살아 있는 믿음이며, 그리스도로 옷 입은 자의 삶입니다.

그리스도께 속한 자가 아브라함의 자손이며, 하나님의 약속을 따라 유업을 이을 자입니다. 순종과 회개가 없는 신앙생활은 그리스도께 속한 것이 아니다.

Galatians 3:26-29

You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Anyone who believes in Jesus becomes a child of God. Those who are baptized into Christ are clothed with Christ. Whether Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female, without distinction, all become one in Christ Jesus. Those who belong to Christ are Abraham’s descendants and will inherit the kingdom of heaven according to God’s promise.

To believe in Jesus means to believe His words, and to believe His words means to obey them. To obey the words of Jesus means to believe that Jesus alone is the Savior and to live according to His words, forgiving and loving one another. If someone confesses with their lips that Jesus is the Savior but disobeys His words, that is not true faith. It is false faith.

To be baptized into Christ and clothed with Christ does not simply mean receiving water baptism. It means living for the kingdom of God and His righteousness, just as Jesus did, and following the Lord even when persecution comes because of it. To obey the will of Jesus is to live in Him.

Those who obey the words of Jesus and repent of their sins are the true children of Abraham. Among those who rejected and persecuted Jesus were people who claimed that they were Abraham’s descendants. But bloodline and outward religious forms alone cannot make anyone a true child of Abraham.

It is useless to rely merely on being physically descended from Abraham while disobeying the Word of God. In the same way, simply attending church and confessing faith with one’s lips does not mean that a person has true faith. Faith that rejects the Word of God while holding only to outward religious forms has no value before God.

Matthew 3:9

And do not think you can say to yourselves, “We have Abraham as our father.” I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

We must not boast about our ancestry. We must not boast about religious forms. Nor should we rely merely on the fact that we attend church. God can raise up children for Abraham even from the stones along the roadside.

What matters is not whom I claim as my ancestor, but whether I truly belong to Christ. We must believe and obey the words of Jesus, repent of our sins, and live by forgiving and loving one another. This is living faith, and this is the life of one who is clothed with Christ.

Those who belong to Christ are Abraham’s descendants and heirs according to God’s promise. **A life of faith without obedience and repentance does not belong to Christ.**
