Samantha: You know I'm afraid of the dark.
서맨서: 아시잖아요. 저 어두운 거 무서워해요.

Mom: I thought you got over that.
엄마: 무서움증 다 없어졌다고 생각했는데.

Samantha: Well I haven't and I never will.
서매서: 그게 아직도 무섭고요 안 없어질 거예요.

Mom: Look. We can see the lights to our house.
엄마: 봐. 집으로 가는 길로 불빛이 보이잖니.

*all of a sudden: 갑자기. 금새.
"All of a sudden the lights went out." (갑자기 불이 나갔어요.)

*to be afraid of the dark: 어두운 것을 무서워하다.
"I was afraid of the dark until I was in high school." (난 고등학교 때까지 어두운 걸 무서워했어.)

*get over (something):극복하다. 이기다.
"It took a long time for me to get over my smoking habit." (난 흡연 습관을 극복하는 데 한참 걸렸어.)
