Galatians 6:1–5
Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load.
When a fellow believer commits a sin, we should not try to slander or gossip about them; rather, we must restore them with a gentle heart. We should share the relevant words of the Bible with them so that they can realize their sin and be helped to repent. Along with this, we must realize that we also possess such sinful tendencies, and be careful lest we fall into the same temptation ourselves.
The reason God’s children commit sins is because they fall into the desires of the flesh and the temptations of Satan. There is only one path to restoration: to understand the unchanging words of the Scripture, repent of one's sins, and turn back to the will of the Lord. When a fellow believer counsels someone with the Word, the Holy Spirit works alongside them to help that person turn back even more quickly.
Not a single person is perfect before God. Anyone who considers themselves perfect is deceiving themselves. Such a person fails to recognize their own sin and does not repent. Those whose sins are not washed away by the blood of Jesus cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Blessed is the person who, upon seeing someone else stumble, recognizes their own sin instead and repents.
Every time we repent, the Lord washes away our sins with His blood. We, who ought to live amidst a curse and death, come to live amidst life and blessings through the Lord's grace. Those who realize such great grace cannot help but feel grateful and deeply moved toward the Lord.
When we see people living and suffering outside of the Lord's grace, there are times when it feels as though only we have received such great grace. However, what we must boast about is not ourselves for having received grace. We must boast in Jesus Christ, who grants all grace and saves us from our sins.
