에베소서 3:9–12

영원부터 만물을 창조하신 하나님 속에 감취었던 비밀의 경륜이 어떠한 것을 드러내게 하려 하심이라 이는 이제 교회로 말미암아 하늘에서 정사와 권세들에게 하나님의 각종 지혜를 알게 하려 하심이니 곧 영원부터 우리 주 그리스도 예수 안에서 예정하신 뜻대로 하신 것이라 우리가 그 안에서 그를 믿음으로 말미암아 담대함과 하나님께 당당히 나아감을 얻느니라.

영원부터 감추어져 있던 하나님의 비밀이 드러났습니다. 그것은 하나님께서 육신을 입고 세상에 오셔서 인류의 죄를 대신하여 죽으시고, 인류를 영원한 멸망에서 구원하신다는 계획이었습니다.그 계획이 마침내 현실로 이루어진 것입니다. 예수 그리스도께서 세상에 오시는 것이 바로 감추어져 있던 하나님의 비밀이었습니다.

예수님을 믿고 회개하는 자는 누구나 죄를 용서받습니다. 예수님의 피로 죄를 씻음 받은 자들을 하나님께서는 의인으로 인정해 주십니다.그러므로 예수님을 믿고 회개한 자들은 하나님 앞에 당당히 나아갈 수 있게 되는 것입니다. 이것은 인간의 공로가 아닙니다. 전적으로 예수 그리스도의 공로입니다.

하나님께서는 인간을 창조하실 때 완전한 자유의지를 주셨습니다. 인간들은 그 자유의지를 사용하여 하나님의 말씀에 순종하고, 하나님께 감사와 영광을 돌려야 했습니다.그러나 인간들은 하나님께서 주신 자유의지를 잘못 사용했습니다. 도리어 하나님의 말씀을 거역함으로써 저주와 멸망에 빠지고 만 것입니다.

하나님께서는 인간들이 이처럼 범죄하여 멸망에 빠질 상황을 대비하여 예수 그리스도를 준비하셨습니다.아담과 하와가 하나님께서 기대하신 대로 선악과를 따 먹지 않고 생명과를 따 먹었더라면, 예수 그리스도께서 세상에 오실 필요가 없었을 것입니다.

그러나 인간들이 범죄함으로써 죽음에 이르게 되었기 때문에, 예수 그리스도께서 세상에 오셔서 인간들의 죄를 대신하여 죽으신 것입니다. 그리고 죄인들이 회개할 때 그 죄를 용서하시고, 그들을 다시 살려 주시는 것입니다.

Ephesians 3:9–12

And to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

The mystery of God, which had been hidden from eternity, has now been revealed. It was God's plan to come into the world in the flesh, die in place of humanity for their sins, and save humanity from eternal destruction. That plan has finally become a reality. The coming of Jesus Christ into the world was the very mystery of God that had been hidden.

Anyone who believes in Jesus and repents of their sins receives forgiveness. God recognizes as righteous those whose sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus. Therefore, those who believe in Jesus and repent of their sins can approach God with confidence. This is not because of any human merit. It is entirely because of the merit of Jesus Christ.

When God created human beings, He gave them complete free will. They were supposed to use that free will to obey God's Word and give thanks and glory to Him. However, human beings misused the free will God had given them. Instead, they disobeyed God's Word and fell under a curse and into destruction.

God prepared Jesus Christ in anticipation of the possibility that human beings would sin and fall into destruction. If Adam and Eve had done as God expected, eating from the tree of life instead of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, there would have been no need for Jesus Christ to come into the world.

However, because human beings sinned and became subject to death, Jesus Christ came into the world and died in their place for their sins. And when sinners repent, He forgives their sins and brings them back to life.
