에베소서 4:1–6

그러므로 주 안에서 갇힌 내가 너희를 권하노니 너희가 부르심을 입은 부름에 합당하게 행하여 모든 겸손과 온유로 하고 오래 참음으로 사랑 가운데서 서로 용납하고 평안의 매는 줄로 성령의 하나 되게 하신 것을 힘써 지키라 몸이 하나이요 성령이 하나이니 이와 같이 너희가 부르심의 한 소망 안에서 부르심을 입었느니라 주도 하나이요 믿음도 하나이요 세례도 하나이요 하나님도 하나이시니 곧 만유의 아버지시라 만유 위에 계시고 만유를 통일하시고 만유 가운데 계시도다

모든 사람은 죄를 지었으므로 그 죗값으로 멸망하는 것이 마땅합니다. 그러나 하나님께서 사람들을 불쌍히 여기시어 예수 그리스도의 피로 죄를 용서하시고 다시 살게 하셨습니다. 하나님의 원수였던 자들을 하나님의 자녀로 다시 불러주신 것입니다.

우리는 다시 받은 생명으로 주님의 뜻에 합당하게 살아야 합니다. 주님 앞에서 겸손하고 온유한 마음을 가져야 합니다. 그것은 자신의 생각을 앞세우지 않고 주님의 뜻에 순복하는 것입니다.

하나님의 자녀는 자신을 남보다 낮추고, 서로 용서하고 이해하며 사랑해야 합니다. 이것이 겸손과 온유입니다.

오래 참고 서로 용납할 때 사랑 안에서 하나가 됩니다. 그러나 서로 미워하고 해치면 화목이 깨어지고, 그곳은 사탄의 소굴이 되어 생지옥과 같아집니다. 이런 곳에는 사랑의 주님께서 함께하실 수 없습니다.

예수님을 믿기 시작한 때부터 우리는 예수님의 사랑을 배우고 실천하는 과정을 거쳐야 합니다. 이 과정을 잘 통과하는 자가 천국에 들어가는 믿음을 얻게 됩니다.

사랑을 실천하는 훈련을 하지 않는 자는 결코 천국에 들어가는 믿음을 얻지 못합니다. 교회에 다니기만 하면 저절로 천국에 들어가는 것이 아닙니다. 사랑을 부지런히 배우고 실천하는 자가 영원한 사랑의 나라인 천국에 들어가는 것입니다.

성령께서 우리에게 오신 것은 우리가 예수님의 사랑을 깨닫고 그 사랑을 실천하도록 하시기 위함입니다.

하나님은 한 분이십니다. 그 하나님께서 예수님으로 오시어 구원 사역을 이루셨습니다. 그리고 성령으로 다시 오시어 그 구원의 소식을 만민에게 전파하시는 것입니다.

주님도 한 분이시고, 믿음도 하나이며, 천국을 향한 소망도 하나입니다. 우리는 모두 천국의 한 가족입니다.

Ephesians 4:1–6

Therefore I, a prisoner in the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the calling you have received. With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bear with one another in love. Make every effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, through all, and in all.

All people have sinned and therefore deserve to perish as the wages of their sin. Yet God had compassion on them, forgave their sins through the blood of Jesus Christ, and gave them life again. He called those who had been His enemies to become His children.

With the life we have received anew, we must live in a manner worthy of the Lord’s will. We must have humble and gentle hearts before Him. This means submitting to His will rather than insisting on our own ideas.

God’s children must humble themselves before others, forgiving, understanding, and loving one another. This is humility and gentleness.

When we patiently bear with one another, we become one in love. But when we hate and harm one another, harmony is broken, and that place becomes a den of Satan, like a living hell. The Lord of love cannot dwell with us in such a place.

From the moment we begin to believe in Jesus, we must go through the process of learning and practicing His love. Those who faithfully go through this process gain the faith that leads them into heaven.

Those who do not train themselves to put love into practice can never gain the faith that leads them into heaven. Merely attending church does not automatically bring us into heaven. Those who diligently learn and practice love will enter heaven, the eternal kingdom of love.

The Holy Spirit has come to us so that we may understand the love of Jesus and put that love into practice.

There is only one God. That same God came as Jesus and accomplished the work of salvation. Then He came again as the Holy Spirit to proclaim the message of salvation to all people.

There is one Lord, one faith, and one hope of heaven. We are all one family in heaven.
