Bible Reading - Ephesians 4:1~10

4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling(부르심에 합당한 삶) you have received.

그러므로 나는 주님을 위한 죄수로서(주님을 위해 갇힌 자로서) 당신들이 받았던 부르심에 합당한 삶을 살아가기를 요청한다.

4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing(견디므로) with one another in love.

완전히 겸손하고 온유하며 사랑으로 서로 견디므로 참아주어라.

4:3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond(결속) of peace.

평화의 결속으로 성령의 하나되게 하심을 지키기 위해 최선을(모든 수고를) 다하라.

4:4 There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to one hope when you were called--

네가 부르심을 받았을 때 한 소망으로 부르심을 받았던 것처럼 한 몸과 한 성령이 있다.
4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 한 주님, 한 믿음, 한 세례

4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

모든 것 위에 계시고, 모든 것을 통하여 계시고, 모든 것 안에 계시는 모두의 한 분의 하나님 아버지가 계시다.

4:7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned(분배했다) it.

그러나 우리 각자에게 은혜는 그리스도께서 나누어 주신 대로 주어졌다.

4:8 This is why it says: "When he ascended(승천하다) on high,

he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men."

그러므로 “그가 높은 곳으로 올라가실 때에 포로들을 인도하시고 사람들에게 선물을 주셨다”고 말씀하신 것이다.

4:9 (What does "he ascended" mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?

"그가 올라가셨다"는 말은 그가 더 낮은 지상 영역으로 내려오셨다는 것 외에 무슨 뜻인가?

4:10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

내려오셨던 그는 모든 우주를 충만케하기 위해 모든 하늘보다 더 높이 올라가셨던 바로 그 분이시다.
