20261009 축제기간 사역 Services in Fare Time 매 해 이맘때쯤이면 투바시티에서 목요일부터 일요일까지 웨스턴나바호축제가 개최된다.이때엔 장마당에도 평소보다 훨씬 많은 상인들과 방문객들이 찾아온다.이때 한두 번 나가서 사역한 적이 있었고, 때론 자리다툼을 피해서 사역을 취소하기도 했다.올해엔 나가기로 결정.기왕이면 금요일, 토요일, 그리고 주일 오후에도 나갈 수 있으면 나가야겠다고 생각. 금요일에는 원근각지에서 모여든 여러 사람들이 찾아와서 요 근래 이루지 못했던 36건의 침치료와 13건의 문서사역을 감당했다.모처럼 사역 초기에 꽤 보편적이었던 숫자의 환자를 치료한 셈이다.그리고 토요일 장마당 앞뒤 문을 다 열어놓겠다는 당국자의 말에 따라 진료버스를 장마당에 두고 왔다. 토요일 아침에 나가보니 당일 계획된 퍼레이드 준비로 도로 통제가 시작되고 있었고...가까스로 시장까지 가보니 시장은 잠겨있고 텅 빈 시장에 우리 진료버스만 덩그러니 서있다.당국자들과의 통화를 실패하고 채프터하우스에 가보니 거기도 토요일이라선지 다 잠겨있다.혼잡한 교통통제를 가까스로 피해 집으로 돌아왔다.최대한 빠르게 당국자와 연락하여 버스를 회수해야 하는 상황이 된 셈이다.내일은 주일.가까운 동네 교회에서 예배드릴 예정이다. 토요일 오후 열두 시 42분에 집을 나서 퍼레이드 마치고 돌아가는 교통체증 속에 천신만고 버스 가져오니 오후 한 시 47분이다. 3마일 거리를 거의 한 시간에 걸쳐서... 여기 사는 덕분이라 생각.이렇게 우리는 현지 잔치에 참여했다. Every year around this time, the Western Navajo Fair is held in Tuba City from Thursday to Sunday.At this time, far more merchants and visitors than usual come to the market.At that time, I had served once or twice, and sometimes I even canceled my ministry to avoid a competition over a space.I've decided to go out this year.If possible, I think I should go out on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon as well. On Friday, many people gathered from all over the places so that we carrid out 36 acupuncture treatments and 13 ministry sessions that had not been achieved recently.For once, I managed to treat that many number of patients which had been quite common in the early days of the ministry.And following the official's remark that the doors to the market would be left open on both Saturday, I left the clinic bus at the market. When I went out on Saturday morning, road closures had already begun for the parade preparations planned for the day.When we finally made it to the market, it was closed, and only our clinic bus stood alone in the empty space.After failing to reach the officials, I went to the Chapter House, but it was closed too, probably because it was Saturday.I barely avoided the chaotic traffic control and came back to home.This means we must contact the authorities and retrieve the bus as quickly as possible.Tomorrow is Sunday.I plan to attend worship at a nearby local church. We left home at 12:42 p.m. on Saturday, and brought back the clinic bus back home at 1:47 pm because of the after-parade traffic jam. It took almost an hour for 3 miles; price for living here.This was how we participate the local fare.
