Topic1. Taking care of it
I spent most of the day yesterday filming. That means that I spent most of the day with makeup on my face. I really dislike wearing makeup, but it’s part of the job. After the day was over and I finally wiped my face clean, I started to think about the importance of skin.
I’ve been lucky. I never really had pimples in high school. Acne was never an issue for me. So my complexion is not bad. But I have fairly thin skin, so I can get wrinkles pretty easily. Since I make strange and extreme facial expressions all of the time… well, I’m only speeding up the wrinkle process. What can I do? What do you do?
I put lotion on my face every single morning after I shave. Then I put some more cream on over that. I try to put even more on after a shower at night. Taking care of your skin is really important. I didn’t think about it at all when I was younger. I would go out and play without thinking about getting a sunburn and what that sunburn would do to me later on. They say that skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer you can get. That’s scary. So now, when it’s summer time, I often wear a long sleeved shirt to protect my skin. Ten years ago, I didn’t care about my skin. No I do!

Topic2. Touching Could Make Someone Angry
Richard Gere and Shilpa Shetty were issued arrest warrants from an Indian local court. What were their charges? A kiss between them in public In 2007, Gere visited New Dehli to campaign for HIV/AIDS prevention and met Shilpa Shetty, a Bollywood stars.
For greeting with delight, he poured kisses upon her cheeks and hugged her tightly. Some Indian civic organizations and fervent Hindu ideologues burned effigies(모형, 석상) of Gere and Shetty's movie posters. Finally, Indian people denounced the movie stars, insisting that their behavior was not proper in their culture.
Gere didn't know that Indians are sensitive to public shows of affection. He just greeted the Indian actress American-style. Every country has different greeting styles. Slapping a person on the cheek is one of the greeting styles for Eskimos. While an Arab would press one's cheek, Tibet has a particular greeting style that includes sticking out one's tongue.
What would you do if someone spits on you? Maybe you would be very upset. However, if the person is a Masai of Africa, we need to understand them because it is one of the greeting styles for that tribe.
Spitting on someone is offensive behavior in Korea, but the Masai spits in a person's face to indicate delight. When greeting, Koreans usually bow or shake hands, and thus touch the stranger very little. Touching is affected by cultural background. Koreans don't usually touch each other as they are influenced by Confucianism, which has taught Koreans to behave with decorum(예의) and to show respect for propriety. So, greetings tend to be rather formal. Although the Confucian influence is not as strong as it once was, many Koreans still think that way.
``Asians speak with their own body language-which is often contrary to Western sensibilities,'' said Mary Murray Bosrock, author of Asian Business Customs and Manners. Most Asian countries do not have a touching culture like Western countries and public displays of affection are considered uncommon in Asia.
