Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon

Day 01 Arrival

Arrive
Yangon airport . Meet and welcome by local guide . In the
evening, visit to the magnificent Shwedagon pagoda, landmark of
Myanmar and one of the greatest wonders of the world .( 2500 years old world
famous Golden Stupa where the dome shape rises 100 meters above its base)
. Overnight in Yangon.
Day
02 Yangon – Thanlyin full day

In the morning , Visit Thanlyin - an important Burmese trading
center whilst still a colony of the Portuguese during the 16th century. It used
to be known as Syriam, a historical
major port. It was and
still is a strategic oil refinery and industrial zone. Visit the interesting Kyauktan Yele Pagoda (middle stream)
temple, set on a tiny island in the middle of the river, and then explore 2
more pagodas. Feed the river fishes with grounded wheat and corn balls which is
purchased from the local peddlers. Be astonished by their enormous sizes. Also experience the riverside
market before taking a drive along the longest bridge back to Yangon.
Afternoon , enjoy driving
through the heart of Yangon with photo stop at Yangon
City hall , MaharBundoola Park and
Immanuel Baptist Church built in 1885 , High Court and many
colonial style buildings .It will be
followed by visit to to Kyaukhtatgyi Buddha Image - houses the fourth
largest colossal reclining Buddha .You can study traditional wood carving
workshops along the stairways this
pagoda . Overnight in Yangon.
After
breakfast at the hotel , drive to Kin
Pun “base camp” (194km). Continue to Kyaikhtiyo,
the Golden Rock, a huge boulder completely covered by gold leave sand
delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. From Kin Pun, a steep and
rough 11 km dirt road leads to the upper staging point, a journey made in open
trucks, which are compulsory and very crowded. From the “upper area”, travelers
must at present walk the final stage, approximately 4 km up steep paths, which
ascend some 500m to the Golden Rock. As an easier alternative to walking,
visitors can be carried in sedan chairs by four. Overnight
at hotel in Kyaikhtiyo. This hotel is only 5 minutes walking
distance from Golden Rock pagoda . It is on the top of the mountain with
panoramic view .
Day 04 Back to Yangon and via Bago
sightseeing ( B / L / D )
After breakfast, descend from Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda.
Drive back to Yangon via Bago and sightseeing includes “Kyakhatwine Monastery”, “Shwe
Maw Daw Pagoda” was originally built by the Mon to a height to 23 meters in
the 8th century and was rebuilt higher several times until it finally reached
its present 114 meter stature in 1954, the highest pagoda in Myanmar. “Kanbawzathardi Palace” the famous
palace of King Bayinnaung (1551-1581 A.D.) is being extensively excavated and
some buildings are being rebuilt. “Shwethalyaung
Pagoda” Built in 994 AD by King Mingadippa, It is 55 meters long and 16
meters high, another biggest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar built during 9th
century. “Kyeik Pun Pagoda” It was built
by King Dhamma Zedi in 1476 A.D, four gigantic Buddha images all in sitting
posture facing the four cardinal points of the compass. Stay overnight at
Yangon.
Day 05 Yangon sightseeing departure

In the morning , after breakfast , continue to World Peace pagoda-built in
1954 in dedication to the Sixth Buddhist Council (1954-56); Lawka
Chanthar - world biggest marble Buddha ; and royal white
elephant finally .If time permit you ,Observe Indian Market where
one can see and buy Indian cooking spices and ingredients. Afternoon, shopping in the Bogyoke
market formerly "Scott market", where you can get a wide range of
Myanmar handicraft, jewelries, fabrics, lacquer wares and so on ; and China
town – vendors selling fresh fruits , flowers and local delicacies .
Evening , transfer to airport for your departure flight .
