This work is for the protection of human life regardless of the field, and it is for the future.
| To the distinguished intellects and consciences of the world, and to all fellow companions who believe in a better tomorrow for humanity, I offer my deepest respect and greetings. I send this letter with a spirit of academic solidarity for the better future and collective well-being of mankind.Beyond the boundaries of nations and disciplines, I wish to share the honor of inviting you on a noble journey toward universal human happiness. In doing so, I wish to offer a precious proposal regarding the responsibilities and universal happiness that our era faces. |
We are G.Y.B.
【 Guardian · Yield · Balance 】
we protect life
return achievements to humanity
maintain the balance between power and responsibility
Our proposal transcends the boundaries of academia and ideology; it is a journey toward happiness—a universal human value—and a historic mission to safeguard the dignity of life for all of us. Today, we seek to take a sacred step toward a better tomorrow, moving beyond our individual identities to stand as a single community of humanity.
Your scholarly insights will serve as the ultimate safeguard for the dignity of human life. We are now uniting the voices of intellectuals worldwide to bridge the “ethical gap” that lies beyond mere technical data. In response to the solemn legacy of “the responsibility of science” left to us by Alfred Nobel, we now intend to honor the promise of November 11. Thus, G.Y.B. hopes to transform the unfinished task Nobel left for future generations into a technological achievement.
Human history has long been a paradox of monumental leaps and poignant sacrifices. Today, we find ourselves at a historic crossroads where remembering is no longer enough; we are called to actively safeguard human life through the convergence of advanced technology and moral conscience. Therefore, anchored by the symbolic milestone of G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R DAY, we aim to manifest the dignity of humanity through tangible and transformative technological implementation.
First, we commit to the preservation of a sacred legacy.
The essence of the G.Y.B spirit transcends mere commemoration of the past; it is a profound covenant dedicated to the 'Collective Responsibility' of mankind and the 'Eternal Rest' of those who sacrificed. It is an awakening of our shared humanity—a realization that we are intrinsically bound to one another.
Second, we champion the sanctity of life through technological stewardship.
Human knowledge and technology must never be instrumentalized to threaten life; instead, they must serve as a compassionate shield for the most vulnerable among us. Anchored by the 11.11 R&R DAY, we will synthesize our long-cultivated technical expertise to launch substantive initiatives dedicated to safeguarding humanity against the ravages of disease, poverty, and environmental crises.
Third, we seek the profound solidarity and companionship of the global mind.
The insights and commitment of 200,000 scholars worldwide serve as the ultimate catalyst for transforming this vision into a living reality. I humbly invite you to lend your voice to this journey, allowing your academic excellence to transcend mere technical advancement and flourish as the 'practical wisdom' that safeguards our shared humanity.
I am profoundly certain that the modest step we take today will evolve into a vast, life-sustaining river for the generations to follow. We await your distinguished presence in G.Y.B’s courageous odyssey to uphold the most sacred values of mankind.
[A testimony forged by 18 years of endurance, and a noble appeal to humanity]
My purpose in writing to you today is not to solicit fleeting attention by capitalizing on the tragic wars or geopolitical conflicts currently fracturing our world. Rather, our yearning to announce the G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R DAY emanates from a place of profound readiness: we have finally established the robust 'technical architecture' and the 'philosophical bedrock' necessary to tangibly safeguard human life
To finally dispatch this letter today, I have nurtured a solemn calling for humanity within my heart, through 18 long years of silent and steadfast devotion.
For 18 years, I have solely consecrated my life to research and devotion for the sake of humanity. Throughout this long and solitary odyssey, we have navigated arduous research, relentless development, and countless unseen trials to transcend technical boundaries.
While it may take only a few moments for you to read these lines, woven between every sentence is the staggering weight of 157,680 hours. It is the essence of a founder’s passion and tears—a life sustained by the unwavering resolve to reshape the future of mankind, even at the cost of one's own youth.
I state with absolute conviction: the fleeting moment spent perusing this letter and the arduous years of our preparation hold values that are fundamentally incommensurable. Beyond mere rhetoric, we have secured the substantive technological prowess required to tangibly safeguard human life. Empowered by this meticulously prepared momentum, we now stand ready to execute the following strategic imperatives.
Ⅰ. The Global Dissemination of Proven Technology
Leveraging the technological milestones honed over 18 years of rigorous research, we shall decisively confront the fundamental threats to human life and safety.
Ⅱ. The Institutionalization of G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R DAY
By enshrining the duality of honoring sacrifice (Rest) and upholding duty (Responsibility), we aim to establish a new civilizational milestone where advanced technology and human ethics coexist in perfect harmony.
Ⅲ. The Mobilization of Global Intellectual Solidarity
In partnership with the 200,000 intellectuals addressed in this letter, we will formulate concrete strategic blueprints to ensure our innovations serve as the most benevolent instruments for the betterment of mankind.
Ⅳ. A Profound Entreaty to Your Conscience
This letter was not composed in haste; it is a testament born of a long, arduous journey. I humbly beseech you to acknowledge the 18 years of silent endurance woven into these lines. Do not turn your gaze away until the final word, for G.Y.B’s vision of a new tomorrow relies on your distinguished attention. I remain steadfast in my belief that our lengthy vigil, through your brief reading, shall ignite a monumental transformation for humanity. G.Y.B We are sharing this vision with 160,000 scholars around the world, and are delivering this letter to distinguished experts worldwide. However, this number is not merely a statistic, but 160,000 great 'consciences' capable of safeguarding the universal values of human safety and peace.
As one of the 160,000 experts at the forefront of knowledge, we are sending you this message. For scholarship shines only when it does not turn away from human suffering. Beyond being one among 160,000, your single act of support becomes the most valuable driving force that allows this project to resonate globally.
And your participation will become the decisive single drop that completes this great wave.
We connect the importance of 'one person' to a 'bridge of souls.'
We dream of a 'bridge of souls' where 160,000 intellectuals are connected to one another. You are one of the 160,000 cornerstones supporting that bridge, and among them, one of the strongest. When your single, confident response is gathered, November 11 can finally be reborn as a 'Day of Responsibility' remembered by the world.
Some may say that one person among 160,000 is small. However, we believe that when one intellect—yourself—moves, the great transformation toward the safety of humanity begins.
We propose that November 11 be designated as G.Y.B International Remembrance Day.
This initiative honors and inherits the legacy of noble sacrifice and unwavering devotion enshrined in the 'International UN Veterans Memorial Day' of November 11th. We seek to extend these sublime values to the modern frontiers of industrial and technological crises currently confronting humanity. Grounded in the conviction that remembrance must transcend mere reflection to become a moral imperative for our age, we solemnly propose the 'Day of Remembrance and Responsibility' (R&R DAY)—a global movement in the name of all citizens to safeguard our collective security and a dignified future for all mankind.

Message from the Founder of the G.Y.B Initiative
It is my sincere hope that this message reaches you well. With profound respect for your work, I am reaching out to encourage the participation of people worldwide.
For more than 18 years, I have worked in the field of industrial explosives safety, during which I have witnessed many losses of life caused by industrial accidents. These experiences became the motivation that led me to devote myself to research and technological development.
Through this research, I realized that our efforts should not remain only in technological development, but must also include remembering the sacrifices of the past and fulfilling our responsibility to ensure the safety of future generations.
Based on this awareness of remembrance and responsibility, I felt a strong need to foster a global culture grounded in these values.
We hope that people around the world and everyone reading this message will also empathize with how precious and meaningful it is to remember the sacrifices of the past and to fulfill our responsibility to protect the safety of future generations.
For this reason, I would like to propose the following small global initiative. hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out with deep respect for the work you have accomplished and to encourage the participation of people around the world.

| G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R DAY (Day of Remembrance and Responsibility) |
Academic Introduction
To the esteemed scholars, dedicated researchers, and vanguards of knowledge worldwide—and to every individual across the globe whose heart beats for the future of humanity: I stand before you with the utmost respect to initiate a profound academic discourse.
This day is widely known as a day to honor those who sacrificed their lives to defend peace and freedom.
Many countries hold moments of silence and memorial ceremonies to honor the fallen and to reflect on the tragedy of war.
Our initiative, G.Y.B – 11.11 Remembrance and Responsibility Day, seeks to continue this tradition with respect.
This initiative does not aim to replace existing memorial events.
Rather, it proposes a broader civic and ethical reflection that remembrance should lead to responsibility.
Throughout modern history, humanity has experienced not only the tragedy of war but also destructive industrial disasters, technological catastrophes, and large-scale safety failures that have taken countless lives. One such tragedy was the dynamite explosion at Iri Station in Korea on November 11, 1977. This accident resulted in tremendous loss of life.
This incident clearly demonstrated that if the safety systems surrounding industrial explosives are inadequate, it can lead to an irreversible human tragedy with severe casualties.
For many years, researchers, engineers, and field practitioners have continuously worked to ensure that such tragedies never happen again.
Based on these lessons, G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R Day aims to establish November 11 as a meaningful international day that reminds humanity of our shared responsibility to protect human life.
The core idea of this campaign is simple.
Remembrance – honoring those who sacrificed their lives for peace and those who lost their lives in preventable tragedies.
Responsibility – commitment to scientific integrity, a culture of safety, and the ethical use of knowledge and technology.
This sense of responsibility is particularly important in academia.
Universities, researchers, and engineers play a central role in shaping the systems, technologies, and policies that protect human life. Therefore, the voice of academia is essential in fostering a culture in which knowledge and innovation contribute responsibly to humanity.
We propose the following symbolic moments of remembrance each year.
| November 11 | G.Y.B 11.11 R&R Day |
| November 11, 11:00 AM | A moment to remember the victims and observe a moment of silence. |
| November 11, 11:11 AM | A moment to reflect on the responsibility for life and safety. |
I would like to respectfully introduce a global initiative, “G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R Day: Remembrance & Responsibility,” which seeks to transform remembrance into a shared responsibility for safeguarding the future of humanity.
We are a single drop of water.
If even a single drop is missing, the ocean of
humanity’s love becomes smaller.
A single, consecrated drop of devotion from one soul converges to finally manifest the vast ocean of humanity’s love. Without the invaluable drop that is you, the ocean of responsibility and collective happiness in our era would remain inevitably diminished.
In the next story,
We will introduce our G.Y.B activities and future tasks.
| We are a single drop of water. Culture is the answer. Proposal for the Establishment of an International Day of Remembrance and Responsibility |
Among the multitude of global scholars and visionary researchers, I have reached out to you after profound deliberation, recognizing your deep resonance with the values of remembrance, responsibility, and human dignity.
At first glance, our initiatives may appear as modest endeavors. Yet, I am firmly convinced that just as a solitary droplet contributes to the vastness of the ocean, every singular act of remembrance and ethical practice serves as the essential bedrock for our collective destiny. Guided by this unwavering conviction and hope, I summon the courage to present this proposal to the esteemed members of our global academic community
Every year, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we observe a solemn moment of reflection. We now propose to elevate this occasion beyond national borders, establishing the international 'Day of Remembrance and Responsibility (G.Y.B - 11.11 R&R DAY)' dedicated to all victims of human tragedy.
**Our intent is not to persuade through rhetoric, but to invite the global academic community to co-author a philosophy grounded in remembrance, responsibility, and our shared humanity.
In South Korea, November 11th is widely embraced as 'Pepero Day'—a lighthearted cultural tradition where simple gifts symbolize affection and communal bonds. Yet, beneath this contemporary charm, this date harbors a far more profound historical and ethical resonance for us, as detailed below.
First, the eleventh minute of the eleventh hour on November 11th signifies the 'Final Roll-call'—a sacred moment to honor those who answered the call to defend freedom, particularly the UN veterans who never returned. We stand in silence to invoke their names, hallowing their sacrifice with profound respect and gratitude.
**Second, November 11th marks the anniversary of the catastrophic dynamite explosion at Iri Station in South Korea. This tragedy serves as a harrowing testament to how the absence of oversight in industrial explosives can result in devastating loss of life.
For over thirty years, we have meticulously researched this disaster, consecrating our efforts to developing systems that ensure such tragedies are never repeated. Our focus remains steadfast on the safety, accountability, and ethical stewardship of industrial explosives—a mission dedicated to safeguarding human peace and life. It is with this unwavering passion that we propose to align our endeavors with the noble spirit of the [Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences]. Our ultimate objective transcends mere technology; it resides in the preservation of life and the endurance of peace. We believe our philosophy resonates deeply with Alfred Nobel’s vision of scientific responsibility, and we aspire to manifest this spirit alongside the global community.

A global memorial day, 'Day of Remembrance and Responsibility for Victims,' incorporating the philosophy of Nobel.
To this end, the participation of academia, researchers, university officials, and every single citizen is essential. For those who express interest, we plan to share our research and systems in successive stages—Phase 1, 2, and 3—while gathering feedback and continuing academic and ethical discussions. I am confident that the collective strength built through the participation of every professor, researcher, and citizen will be dedicated to the cause of global peace and the protection of life.
To expand this proposal and convey the visual and cultural essence of remembrance, we are preparing a commemorative exhibition in Stockholm, Sweden—the birthplace of Alfred Nobel. Our goal is to establish a global day, the 'Day of Remembrance and Responsibility for Victims,' centered on mourning and dignity, where we remember past sacrifices and pledge to a safer future.
The exhibition features the embroidery of Korean artist Lee Jung-sook, where each meticulous stitch symbolizes the labor of memory, honoring UN veterans and those lost in industrial disasters. Detailed information on the artist and the exhibition is provided in the attached files. Furthermore, as a symbolic gesture of participation, we suggest a modest donation of $5 USD.
While an individual’s small contribution may seem modest, we believe that the collective empathy and participation of many can spark meaningful change. In the long term, we aim to establish the 'Soul Museum Platform' in South Korea—a sustainable foundation for commemoration, dialogue, education, and eternal remembrance.
Your empathy or even a simple message of encouragement would provide us with immense strength.
【 Ⅰ. November 11 in the Republic of Korea, known as Pepero Day 】
A day that symbolizes communication, connection, and love through small gifts.
Pepero cookies shaped like the number 1
Stick-shaped snacks in the form of the number 1
In the spirit of 'G.Y.B – 11.11 Day of Remembrance and Responsibility,' we introduce Korea's beautiful custom of commemorating November 11th as a 'Day of Sharing'
November 11th has long been cherished in Korea as a day of heartfelt sharing, symbolized by slender treats that mirror the unity of '1-1-1-1'.
November 11th is a day when the number '1', resembling the shape of a slender stick snack, repeats four times. It has evolved into a unique culture of sharing hearts by giving small gifts to loved ones. On this day, people exchange Pepero as modest tokens of affection, sharing warmth and gratitude with family, friends, and those they cherish. Over time, Pepero Day has come to symbolize communication, connection, and the strengthening of human relationships.
On November 11th, the streets of Korea are filled with sweet gestures of encouragement toward one another. This modest tradition of sharing, cherished by Korea’s younger generation, reveals a facet of humanity: that small acts of sincerity can gather to create a powerful bond of solidarity.
Inspired by this spirit of sharing and connection, just as a small gift can convey a sincere heart and good intentions, I believe Pepero Day can become a meaningful occasion for sharing a collective responsibility to remember past sacrifices and create a safer, more peaceful world.
By introducing Korea's Pepero Day tradition, we believe that this modest yet significant culture of kindness and goodwill can serve as a cultural bridge, allowing people around the world to share the universal values of remembrance and responsibility.
Upon this tender cultural soil, we seek to plant the solemn responsibility of 'Protecting Human Life.' Just as we exchange sweet gifts, it is now time to exchange a solidarity of intellect that pledges mutual safety and peace. With the same heart that shares small daily joys with the world, please join us in creating a miracle that leads to the noble practice of safeguarding humanity.
We seek to reinterpret these four '1's as solid pillars connecting 'Me(1), You(1), Us(1), and Tomorrow(1),' and as a 'Bridge of the Soul' that unites remembrance and responsibility.
The icon of 'Connection and Communication' embodied by Pepero Day resembles the borderless network that G.Y.B aspires to create. Using this modest Korean cultural tradition as a bridge, I wish to invite you all to a global civic festival where the world's intellectuals share the 'Duty of Memory' and design a 'Safer Future'.

a sustainable place for remembrance, dialogue, education, and memory
Soul Museum [The Bridge of Souls]
1. A Sanctuary of Intellect Beyond Borders
The Soul Museum is a “global intellectual sanctuary” where barriers of race, nationality, and background are dissolved, and citizens of the world come together as one.
It is designed not merely as an exhibition space, but as a cultural hub where humanity’s shared challenges are discussed, ideas are exchanged, and borderless friendships are formed. Through the Soul Museum, we seek to create a “plaza of dialogue” that deepens understanding of diverse cultures and fosters mutual respect and cooperation.
2. A Platform Connecting Remembrance and Responsibility
Our vision is to expand the Soul Museum worldwide and build a “Bridge of Souls” that connects humanity as one.
Each Soul Museum will serve as a place where scholars, artists, and citizens gather to share the mission of [G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R Day].
The presentations and discussions held here will offer profound insights into how remembrance can evolve into collective responsibility.
3. A Sustainable Global Network
The Soul Museum is a global cultural movement that transcends fixed architecture.
Our long-term goal is to establish a “Soul Museum Network” operated by individuals and communities who share common values and aspirations.
These spaces, established across nations, will be connected by the shared spirit of remembrance and responsibility, serving as a global platform that supports the safety and peace of humanity.
4. From Insadong to the Five Oceans and Six Continents
The concept presented today is the blueprint for the first Soul Museum to be established in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The small flame ignited in Insadong—where tradition and modernity coexist—is now preparing to extend across the five oceans and six continents together with partners around the world.
We are now seeking partners around the world to help realize this noble vision.
We invite you to lend your insight to the journey of establishing and operating the Soul Museum in your country and region, and to building a network of intellectual dialogue and remembrance.
When this “Bridge of Souls”, originating from Seoul, Republic of Korea, connects to your city and your university, humanity will finally enter a new era of peace beyond tragedy.
The Soul Museum is not merely a physical structure.
It is a “bridge of remembrance” that connects generations and transcends borders, and your name will become a cornerstone that supports this bridge.
The Soul Museum will go beyond a physical space and become a “bridge of memory” that spans generations and nations.
Your esteemed name will stand as an eternal cornerstone upholding this noble bridge, remaining as a historical testament to humanity’s love and responsibility.
Starting from Insadong, the traditional cultural district of Seoul, Republic of Korea, we will complete the global platform of the [Soul Museum Network] across the five oceans and six continents.
【 Ⅲ. Roll-call day 】
Roll-call
[Heroes who become stars the moment their names are called.]
https://www.youtube.com/live/QssY7Ji0Wwo?si=JwiLc3DfMg3bK7oA
The greatest love is to lay down one’s life for a friend, and the noblest duty is to never forget and to call that name.
1. The Youth Who Answered the Call: The Final Roll-call
Dear Esteemed Members of the Global Academic and Research Community,
I hope this message finds you in good health and inspired in your pursuit of knowledge.
I am reaching out to you as part of a collective effort to bridge historical memory with our shared responsibility for the future. Seven decades ago, young individuals from across the globe answered a call to protect the universal value of freedom in a land unknown to them. Among them, many UN veterans remain in the cold earth, unable to return to their families.
In their honor, the G.Y.B Initiative conducts the 'Final Roll-call.' This is not merely a formal ceremony; it is a profound act of 'Restoring Dignity.' By calling out each name with sincerity, we bring their fading sacrifices back into the present, ensuring that no soul is forgotten in the shadows of history.
As scholars, researchers, and dedicated professionals, we understand that true progress is built upon the foundation of human dignity and ethical remembrance. I humbly invite you to join this mission. Together, we can transform this spirit of "Remembrance and Responsibility" into a global standard for protecting human life.
2. The Legacy of William Hamilton Shaw
The story of William Hamilton Shaw, a U.S. Navy Lieutenant who loved Korea more than many Koreans, resonates deeply with us. Leaving behind his studies at Harvard and a comfortable future, he chose the battlefield, stating, "In good conscience, I cannot turn my back on Korea during this war; it would be cowardly." His choice demonstrates the true courage that an intellectual should possess. His sacrifice was sublimated into love through generations, becoming the seeds of peace and hope on Korean soil.
3. The 'Roll-call of the Soul' Conducted by Intellectuals
In every age, humanity finds unique ways to heal and honor its path. We believe that true intellect is not only found in cold data but in the warm act of "Paying Homage" to the noble souls who have shaped our history.
We look upon these fallen heroes as 'stars in the sky'—ever-present, guiding us through the darkness. Just as the global icon BTS offered a message of hope and comfort to a world fatigued by the pandemic through their music, the G.Y.B Initiative seeks to offer a different kind of harmony. Our 'Roll-call' is a 'Symphony of the Soul,' a solemn promise to record the lives lost to war and disaster not as mere statistics, but as a "Brilliant Light" that illuminates our future.
This is our collective duty as researchers, scholars, and professionals: to ensure that the light of these sacrifices never fades into the shadows of indifference. We invite you to join us in this 'Roll-call of the Soul.' By uniting our voices, we can transform historical grief into a powerful force for global safety and peace.
4. The Expansion of Memory : [G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R Day]
The time has come for our collective memory to transcend the boundaries of history and reach into the very heart of our shared future.
The G.Y.B Initiative envisions an expansion of the 'Final Roll-call.' It is no longer reserved solely for those who fell in uniform; it is now a tribute to the "Ordinary Heroes"—the workers in industrial fields and the victims of unforeseen disasters who sacrificed their lives for the progress of our civilization.
We propose that on November 11th at 11:00 AM, the entire world joins in a 'Quiet Moment of Remembrance.' This synchronized global observance will be more than a pause in our busy lives; it will be our most sacred and solemn promise to uphold the collective responsibility of protecting every human life.
As leaders of thought and guardians of ethics, your participation in the 11.11 R&R Day will serve as a cornerstone for a safer and more compassionate world. Let us unite our voices to ensure that every name is remembered and every life is valued.
At 11:00 AM on November 11th, this 'Quiet Moment of Remembrance,' observed simultaneously across the globe, will become the most solemn promise for humanity to fulfill its collective responsibility for the protection of life.
While our academic pursuits enrich the fabric of human life, it is the act of 'Remembrance' that truly redeems the human soul.
Within your own field of expertise, there are surely countless researchers and pioneers who dedicated their lives in silence and fell before their work was complete. We humbly ask you to recall them now. On November 11th, we wish to give voice to their legacy and call their names together.
Your participation—simply by adding a name to this 'Global Roll-call' and observing a moment of silence—will ensure that the sacrifices of the past are transformed into a guiding lamp for our future. Let the small tremor in our voices as we call a single name gather into a Grand Resonance for global peace and human safety.
We invite you to be the breath that keeps this flame alive.
A time of “Roll-call (the final roll call)” to honor the young people who answered the call to defend freedom—especially those among the UN veterans who never returned—where names are called one by one to remember their sacrifice and to offer quiet remembrance with respect and gratitude.
In our rigorous pursuit of data and evidence, we often find ourselves looking at victims as mere statistics. However, we believe that true progress is measured by how we treat the memory of the fallen.
November 11th at 11:00 AM.
To take those recorded only as "numbers" in the archives and to call them once again by their "names"—this is the 'Roll-call' we propose. This simple yet profound act of remembrance is the very essence of the True Humanism that our academic and research fields must ultimately strive for.
By breathing life back into these names, we restore the dignity of our past and ensure a safer foundation for our future.
Bible Verse — Gospel of John 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”
In Eunpyeong Peace Park, a small park near Yeokchon Station on the Seoul subway, there is a statue of Captain William Hamilton Shaw (Seo Wi-ryeom II), a U.S. Navy officer who died in the Korean War at the young age of 28.
Captain Shaw was born in 1922 in Pyongyang as the only son of missionary William Earl Shaw, who was serving there at the time. After graduating from high school, he went to the United States and was pursuing doctoral studies at Harvard University when he heard the news of the outbreak of the Korean War. He volunteered to serve, but tragically, he was killed in action during the Seoul Recapture Operation in 1950.
Despite his parents’ pleas to finish his studies first, Captain Shaw is said to have written the following letter.
“Father, Mother! At this very moment, the Korean people are struggling to defend their freedom in the midst of war. If I were unwilling to go now and instead waited to enter Korea as a missionary after the war, when peace has returned, my conscience would never allow such cowardice.”
Although Captain Shaw loved Korea even more than many Koreans themselves and ultimately gave his life in battle, his spirit of sacrifice was remembered by his parents, his wife, his son, and his daughter-in-law. They later came to Korea as missionaries and, across generations, shared the Gospel with countless people.
Christians are those who take the lead in loving their country and are willing even to lay down their lives for their friends. May today be a day in which, just as the Lord sacrificed Himself for us, we too live lives of love, sacrifice, and devoted service for others.

This proposal seeks to ensure the enduring transmission and expansion of a culture of remembrance and reflection. In this regard, we advocate for the formal establishment of an internationally recognized “Day of Remembrance for Peace,” grounded in the voluntary participation of global citizens and dedicated to the promotion of peace, solidarity, and shared responsibility within the human community.
[When Remembrance Becomes Our Culture]
As we stand at the threshold of a new era, we must ask ourselves what defines true progress. We believe that the ultimate advancement of our civilization lies not just in technological mastery, but in the depth of our collective memory and the sincerity of our reflection.
When remembrance becomes a culture, tragedy does not repeat; and when reflection becomes a custom, humanity finally progresses.
1. A Bold Journey Toward Cultural Integration
True progress is not marked by the fleeting nature of ceremonies, but by the enduring strength of the cultures we build.
The G.Y.B Initiative is a 'Bold Journey' to ensure that Remembrance and Reflection are no longer isolated acts, but sustainable pillars of our global culture. Our mission is to weave the fragmented sorrows of individual tragedies into a tapestry of collective memory. We envision this memory serving as the bedrock—a solid philosophical foundation—that reinforces the ethical standards and safety protocols of our modern world.
2. The Justification for International Establishment : G.Y.B - 11.11 R&R DAY
Accordingly, based on the voluntary participation and solidarity of all members of the international community, we formally propose the designation of November 11th as the 'International Day of Remembrance & Responsibility' (G.Y.B - 11.11 R&R DAY). This day will not be the exclusive property of any specific nation, but rather an 'Ethical Day of Commitment' for citizens worldwide who long for the promotion of peace and the well-being of the human community. When this proposed day is formalized, humanity will finally offer a true tribute to past sacrifices and leave behind the safest legacy for future generations.
3. A Historical Milestone for Humanity : Join the 200,000 Intellectuals of G.Y.B
A single voice may be a whisper, but the united voice of 200,000 intellectuals is an irreversible force of nature.
The establishment of an international day of remembrance is a task too great for one person, yet it is entirely within our collective reach. If the ultimate purpose of our academic pursuit is to 'Protect Human Dignity,' then establishing [G.Y.B - 11.11 R&R Day] is not just a choice—it is one of the most urgent moral mandates of our time.
Your signature of support and a brief message of encouragement will serve as the powerful catalyst needed to bring this proposal before the United Nations, international organizations, and global governments. By adding your name to this wave of 200,000 brilliant minds, you are not merely supporting a cause; you are shaping history.
We earnestly invite you to be a protagonist in this miraculous journey. Let us work together so that on November 11, 2026, the world witnesses the birth of a new era of safety and peace, recorded forever in the annals of human history.

K-pop B.T.S Dynamite
K-pop has established itself as a global culture. Whenever we compare our work to culture, we are reminded of Dynamite by BTS. Like the song’s lyrics, the beauty of dynamite has become music—a song that feels like poetry.
[ Cos ah ah I’m in the stars tonight ]
[ So watch me bring the fire and set the night alight ]
[ Shining through the city with a little funk and soul ]
[ So I’mma light it up like dynamite, woah ]
This text is an excerpt from the song lyrics.
BTS's "Dynamite" was released to offer hope to humanity weary from COVID-19.
It's a homage to Dynamite.
The final part of "Roll-call" honors those who sacrificed their lives for peace, like stars in the sky, like a homage.
The word "homage" originates from French and refers to a stylistic similarity intentionally created to express respect and admiration for a specific person or work.
However, we have compiled the contents of Dynamite, which contains many trials and pains, and are making it known to people all over the world.

| The Iri Station Explosion, which occurred on November 11, 1977, (today Iksan Station) resulted in 59 deaths, more than 1,100–1,300 injuries, and approximately 7,800 displaced residents. The accident was caused by the detonation of approximately 22 tons of dynamite and other explosives loaded on a freight train after the escort handling the explosives carelessly left a candle burning. This incident is considered the worst railway-station explosion disaster in the history of South Korea. | |
| Date and Location of the Accident | Around 9:15 PM on November 11, 1977, at Iri Station in Iri City, Jeollabuk-do (present-day Iksan City, South Korea). |
| Human Casualties | 59 people were killed, and approximately 1,158 to 1,400 people were injured, resulting in around 1,400 total casualties. |
| Cause of the Accident | The explosion occurred when a security escort responsible for transporting explosives for the company Korea Explosives (Korea Explosives Co.) fell asleep after leaving a candle burning, which ignited boxes containing explosives. |
| Extent of the Damage | The explosion created a massive crater approximately 15 meters deep and 30–40 meters in diameter within the station yard. Buildings within a radius of 500 meters to 4 kilometers were destroyed or severely damaged, and many windows were shattered, causing widespread destruction in the surrounding area. |
Every year on November 11th, we visit the memorial tower to remember the sacrifices made that day and reflect on our responsibilities.

[ Introducing a poem for remembrance ]
At the crossroads of disaster… We lived through it. The misfortune of 9:15 p.m. on November 11, 1977. The dynamite explosion at Iksan Station, for which even the mountains and forests seemed to weep as they passed. At the crossing of life and death, like a frail deer, we lost our way and wandered. What words could we speak… this tragedy… this solitude… And yet, how could we ever forget the warm fellowship of our people that guided us, like stars shining in the night sky? Thirty-six years ago, on this day, in this place, with a thunderous explosion, the world fell into darkness. As we wandered with nowhere to go, your bodies—arms and legs— were scattered beneath our feet like fallen leaves. Only the cries calling for parents and siblings echoed back through the night sky. Before the reality of that moment, reduced to ashes, we gather here today to honor the souls of the departed. O departed ones who followed the falling, piling leaves, rest in peace. Rest in peace, forever and ever. November 11, 2013 |

We have been researching not only to hold memorial ceremonies but to prevent the recurrence of tragedies, and we are striving to reflect our research findings internationally for the protection of human life. We are confident that when that echo returns to us, we will shine. To achieve this, we appeal to many people around the world to participate. It is our sincere hope that by gathering the strength of each and every individual, this great cause will be realized.
[Advancement of Technology, Becoming a Shield for Life]
When remembrance ends only in tears, tragedy repeats; but when remembrance is sublimated into research and systems, life is finally protected.
1. Scientific Dedication Beyond Remembrance
Our journey does not stop at the solemn sites of memorial ceremonies. For decades, we have analyzed the scenes of horrific disasters and continuously researched technical solutions to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies. Our safety system, developed based on the lessons of the 11.11 Iri Station explosion in 1977, is more than a mere technical achievement; it is a desperate promise to humanity: 'Never again will innocent lives be sacrificed.‘
2. The Echo of Knowledge Beyond Borders
We long for these research findings to transcend national borders and be reflected as international safety standards, becoming a shield that protects all of humanity. We are confident that when the academic and ethical questions we pose to the world become an 'Echo of Intellect' spreading globally, and when that resonance returns to us, the future of humanity will finally shine with the light of safety.
3. A Grand Wave Created by Intellectual Solidarity
To achieve this great cause, there is something as important as the perfection of technology: the 'Participation' of intellectuals worldwide. When the support of each professor and the solidarity of researchers gather to form a grand current, our technology ceases to be a mere tool and becomes a philosophy that saves humanity.
When academic achievement leads to actions that save human lives, the life of a researcher shines with its noblest light. Please add your insight to this noble experiment of sharing the results of the safety research we have experienced and built over the past 20 years with the world, creating a safer global village. Your brief declaration of participation will serve as a catalyst (the priming water) for the technology we have developed to become the standard for industrial sites worldwide and a miracle that saves countless lives. One person's power may be small, but I cordially invite you to this grand cause of 'Life Protection' that we will achieve by gathering our strengths.
[The Legacy of Nobel: From a Tool of Destruction to a Hope for Humanity]
The true value of an invention is completed at the moment it is held in the hands of humanity and used not for destruction, but as a guardian of life.
1. Nobel's Anguish and Noble Testament
Alfred Nobel, the Swedish genius chemist who invented dynamite, was a figure who pondered more deeply than anyone else the immense power his invention brought to humanity and the tragic weight that followed. Through his will, he returned his legacy to 'those who have conferred the greatest benefit on mankind,' proclaiming to the world the ultimate destination where science and technology must arrive.
2. Unfinished Task : Safety and Ethics of Technology
Nobel wished to dedicate himself to humanity, but the unforeseen tragedies and the lack of safety in industrial fields remain an unfinished task for future generations to solve. We seek to newly establish a 'Philosophy of Safety' fit for the digital age, ensuring that the powerful force of dynamite, while building human civilization, does not become a catastrophe that takes lives due to a single mistake.
3. A Modern Response to the Nobel Spirit : [G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R Day]
The project we are pursuing is a modern response to 'Human Peace and Scientific Responsibility' that Alfred Nobel sought. Our safety system, built on Korean patented technology, will be the 'Ethical Full Stop' that completes Nobel's invention. Through the exhibition to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, Nobel's hometown, we intend to share with the world the warm humanity that lies beyond the cold metallicity of technology.
I would like to invite you to the path where academic achievement leads to the 'Greatest Benefit to Mankind' that Nobel dreamed of. Your thoughts on your field of study and all your endeavors must also have started from a good will to benefit humanity. The November 11th we propose is a day when the intellectuals of our time share and carry the responsibility of science left by Nobel. Your support will be the evidence of a historical event where the spirit of Nobel meets 21st-century digital technology and is resurrected as a practical force for saving lives. I hope you will accompany us on this great journey so that Nobel's noble legacy can be completed through us.
[Beyond Nobel’s Agony: Safety Revolution in the Digital Age]
Inventors create tools, but intellectuals create the order that directs those tools toward life.
1. Unresolved Challenges of Humanity
History often leaves us with profound gifts accompanied by equally profound responsibilities. Alfred Nobel, in gifting humanity the immense energy of dynamite, envisioned it as a cornerstone of civilization, not a catalyst for destruction. Yet, more than a century after his noble testament, we are still confronted by a global "Vacuum of Safety" that continues to claim innocent lives across industrial sectors.
The task Nobel entrusted to future generations—ensuring the absolute safety of powerful technology—remains an unfinished mission of our time. It is a challenge that transcends borders and disciplines, calling upon the collective conscience of today’s intellectual leaders.
The G.Y.B Initiative is our dedicated response to this unresolved challenge. We believe that by bridging the gap between technological advancement and ethical safety systems, we can finally fulfill the promise Nobel made to the world. I invite you to join us in this historical endeavor to turn a century of longing into a future of guaranteed protection.
2. Beyond Innovation : Digital Technology as a Shield for Human Life
Our journey of research began where Nobel’s era reached its historical limit. Today, we stand at a pivotal moment where digital innovation—something once unimaginable—allows us to transcend the boundaries of the past.
The G.Y.B Initiative has opened a new horizon by developing systems for the real-time management and precision control of industrial explosives and high-risk processes. We believe this achievement is far more than a mere technical milestone. It is the practical realization of "Science for the Protection of Humanity"—the very vision Alfred Nobel earnestly sought to implement through his life's work.
In an age of rapid digital transformation, we propose that our collective intelligence should be directed toward creating an unbreakable shield for human life. Our patented technology is not just an ensemble of codes and sensors; it is a manifestation of our ethical responsibility to ensure that no life is lost to the forces of industry.
3. Proven Innovation: The Pride of Korean Patented Technology
Our vision does not stop at abstract slogans. We have already proven our originality and effectiveness by holding two Korean patents. This technology is a precise system designed to fundamentally prevent tragic accidents in industrial fields and now aims to become a new standard for industrial safety beyond Korea and across the globe.
The true value of academia is completed when it transcends the ivory tower of theory and saves lives in the field. Our patented technology is a 21st-century intellectual response to complete Nobel’s unfinished legacy. Your professional insight and support will be the most powerful endorsement for this Korean innovation to become the foundation of global safety policies. In an era where technology marginalizes humans, please lend your strength as a fellow researcher to our challenging study that seeks to protect human dignity through technology. I am confident that this 'Bridge of Digital Safety' we build together will become a site of miracles, saving countless lives.
【 Ⅴ. “Embroidery Exhibition” 】
In addition, we are preparing an embroidery exhibition in Stockholm, Sweden—the hometown of Alfred Nobel—to share this message with the world and to reflect on the responsibility of knowledge and technology for humanity.
( The timing has not yet been finalized, but if the necessary conditions are met, we will carry out this plan.)

We are a responsibility of exactly one drop—no more, no less.
1. One Song for the Global Community
Perhaps it is a melody already familiar to you. But today, through these pieces of music, I wish to reaffirm our shared aspiration for a safe future as 'One Global Community' beyond borders and races. The message of peace contained within the melody will be a warm light illuminating the arduous journey we are to take.
2. Encounter with Souls Who Became Stars
At this moment when we fold our hearts together through music, the noble souls who became 'Stars in the Sky'—those who dedicated themselves to humanity or were lost in unforeseen tragedies—may be watching over us and feeling a quiet joy. The twinkling starlight that adorns the clear night sky may be the smiles of those souls responding to our pledge of remembrance and responsibility.
3. Deep Resonance in Silence
Please set aside the busyness of daily life for a moment and listen to these pieces of music. While the songs flow, we are no longer 200,000 individual scholars, but a single humanity united to protect the value of life. I believe that brief silence and resonance will gather to finally become a magnificent roar of peace that changes the world.
Even for us, who explore cold truths within the ivory tower of knowledge, we sometimes need the warmest truth of all: 'Music.' Professor, please take a moment to enjoy the songs introduced below. I hope the peace dreamed of in John Lennon’s 〈Imagine〉 and the energy of hope conveyed in BTS’s 〈Dynamite〉 reach your study. And at the end of those melodies, please remember the names we must call together (Roll-call). Our bond formed through music will become the softest yet strongest 'Chain of Responsibility' that protects humanity.
Remembering the victims and fulfilling our responsibilities—perhaps these are the values that we all should cherish deep within our hearts.
The OST of the Korean film 《Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War》 most desperately and beautifully captures the 'Family Love' and 'Sacrifice' that pierce through a tragic history, as well as the 'Responsibility of Those Left Behind' who must rise above that pain.
1. A Requiem Imbued with the Breath of the Fallen
I introduce to you the OST of the Korean film 〈Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War〉. This magnificent melody brings to mind the lives, pains, and unfulfilled dreams of countless young souls who perished amidst the tragic war on the Korean Peninsula. As the music flows, we confront the agony of being human beyond the sound of gunfire and the precious values they sought to protect.
2. A 'Promise Toward the Future' Beyond Commemoration
This music asks us : Why must we never forget the past? Commemoration merely for the sake of sorrow remains in the past, but 'Responsibility'—acting upon the realization of the weight of that sacrifice—becomes the driving force toward a better future. In the silence left at the end of this melody, we solemnly pledge our responsibility to establish the ethics of technology and knowledge so that such tragedies are never repeated.
3. A Resonance Awakening the Intellectual Conscience
While listening to this music, please take a moment to perform a 'Roll-call' for the nameless heroes who were swept away by the relentless waves of history. The only way to ensure that their sacrifices were not in vain is to complete our collective human task of 'Life Protection' under the ivory tower of knowledge. I sincerely hope that this Korean melody serves as a precious spark, awakening the 'Will for Collective Responsibility' that has been dormant within your heart.
Academic truth is proven through formulas and logic, but 'humanitarian values' are perfected through melodies that resonate deeply within the soul. Professor, I invite you to take a moment to listen to composer Lee Dong-jun’s 'Epilogue,' linked below. This music, imbued with Korea’s tragic history, must now become a 'Global Requiem' to comfort the victims of industrial accidents and wars around the world. The weighty sense of responsibility you will feel the moment the music comes to a halt is precisely the path the G.Y.B Initiative intends to pursue. I respectfully request that you contribute both your intellect and your sensibility to this noble journey.

[G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R Day]
Many of the challenges facing humanity today cannot be resolved by the efforts of a single nation or a single group alone.
No matter how long and distant the journey may seem, if the international community and global citizens extend their solidarity and concern, that journey will never be truly far.
The decisive force that can shorten the long journey facing humanity is not merely the advancement of technology, but the shared sense of responsibility and cooperative participation of the international community and global citizens.
If G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R Day becomes established within the international community as a meaningful public observance, the technology we have prepared and its potential will begin to be used for the safety of humanity and for the future.
Human progress begins with invention, but the true value of an invention is realized only when it is used for the safety and peace of humanity.
Through the participation and solidarity of individuals, G.Y.B – 11.11 R&R Day will grow into a meaningful occasion for the global community.
The moment this day takes its place as an important presence within the international community, technology and knowledge will no longer remain merely tools, but will become forces that protect human life and connect humanity.
Ultimately, this day will serve as a symbolic platform of international civic ethics, linking the conscience and actions of global citizens under the two universal values of Remembrance and Responsibility.
We remember the sacrifices of the past,
recognize the responsibilities of the present,
and strive to leave a safer world for future generations.
For the safety of the international community and for world peace,
each small act of participation can grow into a great ocean.
This endeavor transcends individual fields and disciplines, and is dedicated to the pursuit of happiness for all people. Ultimately, it is a cause carried out for the well-being of humanity.

We promise that these funds will be used with absolute transparency, solely for public purposes such as the 'Museum of the Soul' and global safety systems. This $5—perhaps the price of a cup of coffee—becomes the foundation of a sacred sanctuary of memory when gathered from 200,000 intellectuals.
This initiative is addressed to 200,000 carefully selected scholars and global citizens who care about the future of humanity. Your name is on this list because of our faith that you will most deeply understand the values of 'Remembrance and Responsibility' that we pursue. A single, brief reply of encouragement from you will serve as an 'Ethical Milestone'—more than just technology—for countless engineers researching safety systems in industrial sites. Regardless of a donation, your response with your name and affiliation alone will give this campaign immense momentum. We humbly await your response as one of the 200,000.
The $5 contribution you send will be more than a mere donation; it will be a precious token proving the 'Solidarity of Intellectuals' for human safety. We promise that these precious resources will be used with absolute transparency throughout all activities of the G.Y.B Initiative, solely for public purposes such as protecting human life and promoting peace.
The $5, which may be no more than the price of a cup of coffee, will become the cornerstone for building a grand sanctuary of memory called the 'Museum of the Soul' when passed through the hands of 200,000 intellectuals worldwide. Please help us build a 'Network of Remembrance and Responsibility' shared by universities globally with the cost of a single cup of coffee. The $5 is not an economic sponsorship. It is an 'Intellectual's Signature' to unite across borders for human safety. Your contribution will become a seed of a safe future, crafted not by the logic of capital but by pure humanity and responsibility, and will be sown as hope in the harshest sites of disaster. We believe in the power of change created by the 'Sincerity' of 111,111 awakened individuals, not by massive capital.
Through these funds, we dream of a world where technology becomes a 'Shield, Not a Sword.' Your participation will be fully invested in research for safety systems to stop the tragedies of industrial accidents and in building exhibition and education platforms that restore the dignity of victims. This will be the cleanest and most direct practice of realizing 'Science's Dedication to Humanity,' which Alfred Nobel yearned for.
We will transparently share the process of small droplets gathering to form an ocean. The details of the fund's execution and the resulting changes in the world will be reported to your email without filtering through regular videos and letters. To ensure your noble intentions are not in vain, G.Y.B will fulfill its duty as the most honest administrator and diligent practitioner.
We are single droplets of water. However, those droplets gather to form a vast ocean of humanity. The short time you spent reading this letter will remain an eternal value, gifting a 'Safer and More Humane World' to future generations. Remember the past. Fulfill your responsibility. And construct future peace together. We sincerely wish you peace and academic success.
While academic achievements remain on paper, 'humanitarian decisions' remain forever in the memory of humanity. The participation of people around the world is the most precious legacy to be passed down to future generations. The value of 'memory and responsibility' that we share today will be rewarded by the smiles of our children, who will live in a safer world in the future. Please engrave your names on this magnificent historical current created by 200,000 intellectuals. G.Y.B - The 11/11 Day of Remembrance and Responsibility will be remembered in the future, and you will stand at the center of that memory.
In response to your precious participation, we wish to answer not with simple data, but with heartfelt reverence.
1. Waiting for Deep Communication
G.Y.B is listening deeply to each and every piece of precious information and insight you have sent. Please kindly understand that it may take some time to collect the diverse voices of intellectuals from around the world and prepare meticulous responses tailored to each country's culture and field of expertise.
2. Sincerity Over Speed
We aim for a 'Living Dialogue' that aligns with your major and insights, rather than a simple automated response. Even if the reply is somewhat delayed, please remember that it is because your participation has reached us with such weight and precious value.
3. A Promise of Best Effort
The G.Y.B Secretariat promises to provide a sincere reply as soon as possible so that your waiting is not in vain. If you take the first step in this grand journey for human safety and peace, we promise to accompany you with deep gratitude once again.
Knowledge travels at the speed of light, but “empathy” requires time to mature.
The valuable expression of your willingness to participate is, for our research team, more than a simple reply—it serves as an academic and ethical stimulus.
Rather than mechanically processing the voices of 200,000 individuals, we seek to prepare responses of dignity that correspond to each person’s field of expertise and insight.
Even if you have sent us a message expressing your intention to participate, we kindly ask for a little patience. Your patience will be a great strength in helping us build a more complete “Network of Remembrance and Responsibility.”
We once again express our deepest gratitude and respect to all who have participated. And we will soon return with a courteous and thoughtful reply.
