A door also stands for a possible new opportunity or development in life as well as the invitation to enter an unexplored area of yourself. In many cultures the doorway represents the passage between safety and danger or the transition from life to death. In many respects, a door/doorway in "The Matrix" is also symbolic of choice and the need for making a decision. It is while standing in his doorway that Neo decides to go with Choi and Du Jour.
