무엇인가에 대하여 확신할 때 사용하는 clearly, obviously

영어가 자신없다 보니까, 자신감있는 표현도 못하는 경우가 많다. 영어에 자신이 없다고 확신하는 것에 대한 표현이 어눌해서야 되겠는가? Don’t be frustrated!

무엇인가에 대한 확신(certainty)이 있을 때, clearly나 obviously를 문장에 맨 앞에 세워보아라!

확실하다는 것에 대한 자신감으로 영어 표현도 자신있게 나오지 않을까?

Clearly [adverb 부사]

1)     또렷하게                please speak clearly after the tone.

2)     분명히, 알기 쉽게     She explained everything very clearly.

3)    (자신이 있는 말을 강조하여) 분명히

Clearly, the time is right to make some changes.

Obviously [adverb]

1)     (누구나 알다시피, 동의하다시피) 확실히[분명히]

Obviously, we don’t want to spend too much money

2)     (눈으로 보거나 이해하기에) 분명히[명백히]

Obviously true : 명백히 진실한

Clearly나 Obviously 대신 사용할 수 있는 표현들도 있다.

I’m sure (that) the new strategy will be successful.

I’m positive (that) you will find a way

I’m certain (that) we’ll win this match

반대로 표현은 not만 붙이면 된다

I’m not sure (that) the new strategy will be successful.

I’m not positive (that) you will find a way

I’m not certain (that) we’ll win this match
