WELL DONE KOREA!!!!!
Sally edwards - 91st post - 18 Jun 2002 17:57
Well done Korea for playing football as it should be played. Playing to win and never giving up until the final whistle.
You punished the MOANING Italians that their CYNICAL attitude to the game. They got what they deserved!!
We've had the Italian commentators, officials and even the minister moaning and whinging about the referee. This shows how badly the italians take defeat.
They had the chance to win the game but NO they preferred to sit back a defend a one goal lead!
KOREA showed that reputation counts for nothing in this World Cup. It is how you play on the day which is most important!!
Many CONGRATULATIONS!! Well deserved triumph!!!Sally

In my feeling, the original post by an Italian guy (Giovanni is an Italian name, isn't it?) looks quite interesting but all the more funny and crazy. He may say anything but cannot prove it, can he? Well, that's the way the so-called conspiracy theory goes. As Dan G. (third post from the top) pointed out correctly, nobody can make a fool of everybody forever. I mean, any attempt to deceive all the vigilant eyes in the world is simply impossible.
As Sally (Oh, I love this name and her thought as well!) said, if Korea kicks Italy out today, Korea will have DESERVED it!
Wishing for Korea's victory over Italy,
Steroids

Fifa’s Secret Plan
Giovanni Nacci - 9th post - 17 Jun 2002 16:24
Fifa is perpetuating its secret plan against soccer purely for economic reasons. They have already managed to kick out from the competition most of the major teams. This is done so to favour both Korea and Japan cause their markets have an enormous potential in terms of TV rights, merchandising etc…
Expect to see some one way refereeing in tomorrow’s matches (Italy Vs Korea & Japan Vs Turkey). [reply]

While I am ready to believe that FIFA would do most things for economic reasons, I would have to say that the major sides that have gone home, have gone home because they weren't good enough. Even though there have been some terrible descions made against Italy, so far, the refereeing has been the best of any world cup in the modern era with very few red cards and in most cases, advantage being played whenever possible. Do I sense a touch of apprehension before the Azzuri game tommorow and do you already have your excuses planned in advance of a very difficult looking tie ? [reply]

I don't think any large sporting body whether it be FIFA or the NFL could ever successfully pull off any type of conspiracy. First of all you have to think of all the people who need to be in the know and considering the fact that not even one person can keep a secret I find it hard to believe than at the very least ten or twenty people could keep a secret. Secondly if it ever de become know that FIFA or anyone committed this type of fraud it would ruin their credibility FOREVER. Not a chance FIFA is willing to take for the benefit of South Korea or Japan.
Face the facts, some the favorties are playing like they simply deserve to be there while the underdogs have something to prove. There's your conspiracy. [reply]

Methinks Giovanni is paving the way for surprise result tomorrow. Korea has played as well as any team in this World Cup. I cannot recall any referee favouring them. If Korea kicks Italy out tomorrow, Korea will have DESERVED it!!!Sally [reply]

"If Korea kicks Italy out tomorrow, Korea will have DESERVED it!!!"
ok, let's put it this way. If Italy wins by one goal but Korea suffers 2 wrongly disallowed goals, the competition is a farce and Italy would have deserved to lose. Are you happy? Now....I will say that this also works the other way round. See? I give as much as I take. That's how I want Italy to win: fairly and clearly. If they win because the referee or linesman can't do their job this isn't fair. But we all know it isn;t anyway. Having said all that, Italy will probably suffer lots of bad luck but still win!!
