J: Maggie asked me to help the shelter she volunteers at. Have you ever fostered a dog before?
L: Harley was supposed to be a foster, but little did I know I'd fall in love with him and adopt him.
J: I'm worried I'll horrible foster mom./ L: You have to get your feet wet to know whether you can do it or not.
J: I'm also worried that my dog will get upset. He's a bit territorial.
L: To be on the safe side, keep them in separate rooms for a day.
L: Did you agree to foster the dog for the animal shelter your friend volunteers at?
J: Yeah, I brought Brian home on Friday evening. So I was there the whole weekend while he got settled in.
L: How is your dog Chauncey coping with a new dog in the house?
J: It took a few days, but once Brian came out of his shell, the two began playing and even taking naps together./ L: That's gteat!
J: It really is. Chauncey seems more energetic having a foster brother around.
J: Larry, look at these pictures of the dogs sleeping together this morning! Aren't they adorable?
L: Yeah, they're really cute. I take it things are going well with Brian?/ J: Oh, yeah! He and Chuncey are best friends now.
L: It sounds like you going to have a hard time letting go of Brian.
J: No, I'm sure when the time comes to take him to his forever home, it'll be fine.
L: You don't sound very convincing . There's no shame in making him part of your family.
J: You're probably going to laugh at me when tell you what happened.
L: Let me guess: it was a foster fail. You decided to adopt Brian permanently.
J: To make long story short, when this shelter called and said they had someone interested in Brian, I started crying. I couldn't give him up.
L: It's obvious you have his best interested at heart. There's nothing to be ashamed of.
J: My friend Maggie said she had a feeling that would happen./ L: Well, I'm excited to meet Brian. Maybe I can bring Harley with me.
