Bible Reading - Ephesians 5:1~11

5:1 Be imitators(모방자) of God, therefore, as dearly loved children

그러므로 너희는 사랑 받는 자녀로서 하나님을 본받는 자가 되라.

5:2 and live a life of love, 그리고 사랑의 삶을 살아라.

just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant(향기로운) offering and sacrifice to God.

그리스도께서 우리를 사랑하시고 향기로운 제물과 희생제사로 하나님께 그 자신을 우리를 위하여 드리신 것처럼

5:3 But among you there must not be even a hint(흔적) of sexual immorality(부도덕), or of any kind of impurity(부정함), or of greed(탐욕),

그러나 너희 중에 성적부도덕이나 어떤 종류의 부정함이나 탐욕의 흔적이라도 있지 말아야 한다.

because these are improper(부적절한) for God's holy people.

왜냐하면 이것들은 하나님의 거룩한 백성을 위하여 적절하지 않기 때문이다. 

5:4 Nor should there be obscenity(외설), foolish talk or coarse joking(저속한 농담), which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.

또한 어울리지 않는 외설적인 말이나 어리석은 말, 저속한 농담도 있어서는 안 되며 오히려 감사하는 마음을 가져야 한다.

5:5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral(부도덕한), impure(부정한) or greedy(탐욕스러운) person--such a man is an idolater(우상숭배자)--has any inheritance(유산) in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

이것만은 확실히 알아 두어라. 음행하는 자, 더럽고 탐욕스러운 자,- 이런 사람은 우상 숭배자이다.- 그런 사람은 그리스도와 하나님의 왕국에서 유산을 받지 못할 것이다.

5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, 어떤 사람도 너희를 공허한 말로 속이지않게 하라.  

for because of such things God's wrath(진노) comes on those who are disobedient.

그러한 것들 때문에 하나님의 진노가 불순종하는 자들에게 임한다.

5:7 Therefore do not be partners with them. 그러므로 그들과 동업자가 되지 말라.

5:8 For you were once darkness, 너희는 한때 어두움이었다.

but now you are light in the Lord. 그러나 지금은 주 안에서 빛이라. 

Live as children of light  빛의 자녀들처럼 살아라.

5:9 (for the fruit of the light consists(이루어져있다) in all goodness, righteousness and truth)

빛의 열매는 모든 선함과 의로움과 진실함에 있느니라)

5:10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 그리고 주님을 기쁘시게 할 것을 알아내어라.

5:11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds(열매 없는 행위들) of darkness, but rather expose(드러내다,폭로하다) them.

어둠의 무익한 행위에 관여하지 말고 오히려 그것을 폭로하십시오.
