先遠(선원)은 먼 곳에 있는 사람을 먼저 구제함이다.

  Seon-won(先遠,선원) means to first save people who are in distant places.

哲人(철인)이 만물을 구제하고 교화함에 먼저 먼 구석진 곳부터 한다.

  When a sage(哲人,철인) saves and marally transforms all creation,

   they begin first from the distant and secluded corners.

胎兒(태아)가 스스로 변하여 명철한 인물로 되고 무디고 고집 센  인물은 스스로를 깨달아 예절 바르게 한다.

  An unborn fetus(胎兒,태아) transforms itself to become a wise and  bright individual,

  while a dull and stubborn person awakens on their own to become well-mannered and proper.

先遠者는 先于遠人也라 (선원자는 선우원인야라)

   Seon-won(先遠,선원) means prioritizing those who are far away.

哲人이 濟物敎化하시어 (철인이 제물교화하시어)

  The sage saves all creation and brings about moral transformation,

先于遐陬하사 禹胎 自變하여 (선우하추하사 우태 자변하여)

  by starting first from the distant and remote regions,

  so that even an unborn fetus transforms itself,

爲明哲하며 頑骨이 自覺하여 有禮節이니라. (위명철하며 완골이 자각하여 유예절이니라.)

  to become wise and clear-minded,

  and the stubborn and dense awaken on their own to possess manners and decorum.

교화하기 어려운 대상부터 교화를 한다는 것은 불행에 다치기 쉬운 사람부터 구제한다는 것이다.

  To begin moral transformation with those qho are difficult to enlighten means to save

   those who are most vulnerable to misfortune first.
