" 사라졌던 삼족오가 다시 나타났습니다." 어린 신녀의 말입니다. 요즘 월,화 요일 딸과 나의 관심을 온통 끌고 있는 드라마 "주몽"의 한 대사였습니다. 전쟁 장면이 다소 초라하고, 주몽이 화살을 맞고 절벽에서 떨어지는 장면이 그냥 대사로만 처리되어 시청자들의 불만도 사지만 ,우리 모녀는 시간 가는 줄 모르고 화면속의 인물들이 되어 안타까워 합니다. 오늘은 특히 "우태"라는 인물에 마음이 많이 쓰이네요.

소서노를 마음에 두고 가슴앓이를 해야만 하지만, 그것을 자신의 운명이라 받아들이고, 사랑하는 이의 곁에서 자신을 태우려는 이 호위무사가  나의 마음을 저밉니다.  다소 뜬금없는 인사였지요.

정부의 한의학전문대학원 설립 인가 결정은 국내 의학계의 거센 반대에 직면하고 있다. 두 의약 분야간 경쟁이 매우 치열하기 때문이다. 서양의학 박사들은 국내에 이미 의과대학의 수가 넘쳐나고 있다고 주장하는 반면 한의학 박사들은 한의학이 세계 의료 시장에서 큰 잠재력을 갖고 있기 때문에 더 많은 한의학 전문가들을 배출할 필요가 있다고 말하고 있다.

Decision to set up Chinese medical graduate school faces strong opposition in domestic medical industry since competition beteen two parts is so fierce. While Western doctors insist the number of medical school has alreay been inundated , Oriental medical doctors suggest more experts about chinese medicine needed becaise it has enormous potential in Korea

The government decision to license a Korean (Chinese /Oriental) medicine graduate school is facing considerable opposition from Western medical circles here with the rivalry between the two parallel medical systems remaining high. While Western medical doctors assert that Korea has more than enough medical schools already, the "Han (Korean)" doctors say their profession has great potential in the international medical market and therefore requires more trained specialists.

최근 몇 년간 국내외적으로 수요가 증가하고 있는 한의학은 새로 부상하고 있는 분야임에 분명하다. 세계은행 보고서에 따르면 전세계에 걸쳐 연간 한의학 시장 규모는 약 1,500억달러로 나타났는데 이는 세계 반도체 시장 규모에 버금가는 것이다. 국내의 경우 한의과 대학 응시생들이 의과대학 응시자 수를 넘어서고 있다.

During the last few years, it must be sure that oriental medical science is newly rising field that demand is increasing in home and abroad.
According to the IBRD report,oriental medical science's market size is about 15000 billion dollars annually all over the world. This is placed after world semiconductor market size. In case of domestic situation, examiners for oriental medical science college are outnumbering examiners for medical science college.

Oriental medicine is certainly an upcoming field with demand growing internationally and domestically in recent years. A World Bank report put the size of Oriental medical market at some $150 billion a year across the world, comparable to the global semiconductor market. In Korea, applicants for the traditional medical training nearly outnumber those for Western medicine.

그럼에도 불구하고 의사들은 한의학이 수술, 응급치료 또는 중환자 치료를 제공하지 못한다는 이유로 여전히 한의학을 독립적인 의학 분야로 인정하지 않고 있다. 모든 국가 가운데 유독 우리나라만이 두 의학 분야간 최악의 대립 상황을 보이고 있음에 틀림 없다. 최근 몇 년간 두 의학 분야의 박사들은 약국에서 한약과 양약의 판매를 놓고 충돌했고 의료 보험은 한의학 치료에까지 확대되었다.

Korea must be the only county that two Medical Sciences conflict each other in the whole world. For the latest few years, the two Mediacal experts clashed in selling Western and Oriental Medicine at the pharmarcy. Medical Insurance has been expanded to the treatment by the Oriental Medicine

Yet, Western doctors still refuse to recognize Oriental medicine as an independent medical service on the grounds that it cannot provide surgery, emergency treatment or intensive care.

Of all countries, Korea must have witnessed the worst kind of contest between the two different lines of medical service. Medical doctors from the two schools clashed for years over the sale of the two different kinds of medicine at pharmacies, and the expansion of medical insurance to Oriental medical treatment.

병원과 한의원 수가 급증하고 이들 병원들이 경영난을 겪게 되면서 두 의학 분야간 경쟁은 더욱 심화되고 있다. 몇 년 전 정부는 의료서비스 시장의 개방 정책을 시행했고 이로 인해 국내에는 많은 수의 의과대학이 생겨났다. 의과대학 41개와 한의과대학 11개를 포함해 총 52개의 대학이 설립되며 우리나라는 경제협력개발기구 (OECD) 회원국 가운데 인구 일인당 의과대학 수가 가장 많은 국가가 되었다.

As the number of the hospital and oriental clinic are increasing and they are going through financial difficulty, the struggling in both of medicine fields are getting much worse. A few years ago, the government implemented the policy of opening medical service market, which caused a lot of medical colleges to be emerged in Korea. 52 colleges including 41 medical colleges and 11 oriental medical colleges were founded and Korea became the country with the largest number of medical colleges per capita among OECD

As the number of clinics increased sharply in both fields and hospitals were experiencing business difficulties, the competition has further sharpened. Several years ago the government made it a policy to open up the medical profession, and this has resulted in a vastly increased number of medical schools in Korea. The total of 52 medical colleges - 41 in Western medicine and 11 in Korean medicine - has given Korea the largest number of medical schools per capita among OECD members.

우리나라는 미국, 영국, 일본에 비해 일인당 두배의 의과대학 수를 갖고 있다고 한다.

한의학과 서양의학 등 두개의 의료서비스 분야는 환자들은 선택 폭을 넓혀 준다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이들 두 의학 분야간 경쟁은 서로를 비방하는 각 분야 의사들의 태도에 영향을 받은 환자들의 심리에 회의의 그림자를 드리우고 있다.

서양의학과 한의학 치료를 넘나드는 환자들로 인해 의사들은 앞서 받은 치료의 부작용 가능성을 의심하고 있다. 따라서 가능한 한 조속히 서양의학과 한의학을 통합시킬 필요성이 있다. 서로 다른 두 의학 분야에서 오랜기간 개발된 각각의 장점을 가진 이들 두 의학 분야가 서로를 보완하도록 만들기 위해서 가장 중요하고 시급한 과제는 이들 두 의학 분야의 교육 시스템을 통합시키는 일이다.

최대 장애 요인은 한의학계가 기존의 서양의학계로 흡수되기를 꺼리고 있다는 점이다. 그것은 자부심의 문제이지만 의료계의 공통된 이익과 공중보건의료 시스템의 발전을 위해선 양보가 요구된다. 그리고 바로 여기에 정부가 재정 지원을 위한 예산 책정과 신입생 수 조정 권한에 개입할 기회가 있다.

The great obstacle is that oriental medical science is reluctant to be absorbed into existing western medical science. It's the matter of pride but they have to concede each other for common profit of medicine and development of public heath. After this, the government can have an opportunity to estimate the buget for financial support and meddle in regulation of the number of the freshmen.

The major stumbling block is the reluctance of Oriental medical personnel accept being absorbed into the existing Western medical education system. It is a matter of pride, but a broad-minded concession is required for the common good of the medical community and the advancement of the public health system. And here is an opportunity for the government to intervene with its budget for financial aid and its authority on the adjustment of enrollment.

한의학전문대학원 설립 인가는 의학 교육 기관을 통합하는 절차를 가속화시키는데 도움이 되지 못할 것이다. 그로 인해 두 의학계간 반목이 심화될 가능성이 높기 때문이다. 정부 당국이 의료계 통합 조치를 지연하고 있는 가운데 서양의학 의사와 한의사들이 한 건물 하에서 공동 개업하고 있는 등 전국 여러 도시에서 동시적인 움직임이 이미 나타나고 있다.

The authorization to set up Chinese medical graduate school is unhelpful to accelerate the steps to integarate an educational organizations, which might heighten the possibility to deepen antagonism between two medical fields. While the government authority are delaying the medical integration ,some movements such as Occident and Orient -doctors are opening business together in one building are occuring at the same time.

Licensing a new Korean medicine graduate school will not help speed up the process of unifying medical training institutions since it is likely to fuel antagonism within the medical fraternity. As the authorities delay taking action for the integration, spontaneous moves are already being seen in cities around the country, with Western and Korean medical doctors opening joint clinics under one roof.

그는 2005년 4월 교황에 즉위한 이후로 이슬람과 테러간의 연결고리에 대해 사석에서나 공식석상에서 자주 우려를 표시한 것으로 알려지고 있다. 신앙의 이름으로 행해지는 폭력은 오늘날 세계에서 가장 심각한 문제의 하나로서 다른 종교를 믿는 신도간의 대화와 이해를 증진하는 것은 일차적으로 종교 지도자의 몫이다. 오늘날 우리는 더욱 자유로운 세상에 살고 있지만 신앙의 차이에 대한 문제에서는 좀 더 예민해져야 할 것 같다.
