Case No. 167 사람이 곤궁에 시달림에 있어서도 가볍고 무거움이 있다.  Even when people suffer from distress and hardship,   there is a distinction between what is light and what is heavy(less severe and more severe). 반드시 구제하려고 마음먹는다면 마땅히 무거운 것도 알아야 하며 가벼운것도 알아야 한다.  If one truly determined to provide relief,   one must rightfully distinguish between what is heavy and what is light. 무거운 것은 원래 시간을 다투는 것이며 가벼운 것은 원래 날짜를 다투는 것이다.  That which in heavy is inherently a matter of competing against hours(time-sensitive),   whereas that whicch is light is a matter of competing against days. 시간과 날짜를 따지지 않는다면 무겁고 가벼운 것도 없는 것이다.  Without distinguishing between hours and days,   the concept of heavy and light cannot exist.  [Original Text, 원문] 人之困厄이 有輕有重하니 (인지곤액이 유중유경하니)  When people encouunter distress and hardship,   there is a disstinction between what is light and what is heavy. 必欲濟之인대 宜知重知輕이니 (필욕제지인대 의지중지경이니)   If one truly desires to rescue and provide relief to them,   it is only proper to understand what constitutes a heavy matter and what constitutes a light one. 重固時矣요 輕固日矣라 (중고시의요 경고일의라)  A heavy crisis s inherently a matter of hours,  whereas a light crisis is inherently a matter of days. 不時不日이면 無重無輕이니라. (불시불일이면 무중무경이니라.)  Without distinguishing between hours and days,  there can be no distinction between heavy and light.
