=================================
(It's Saturday morning and Tom is talking to his wife Erika…)
Tom: So how was last night? Did you have a good time with your sister?
Erika: And Susan Dina and Mary. We all had a great time.
Tom: Oh they joined you too? What did you do?
Erika: We were going to see a movie but we ended up having dinner and going dancing.
Tom: That sounds like fun.
Erika: And what did you do?
Tom: I heated some leftovers in the microwave watched a little TV then went to bed.
Erika: Did you sleep okay? You've been having trouble sleeping lately.
Tom: I fell asleep the second my head hit the pillow.
▶leftovers or leftover (something):
"There's leftover pizza in the refrigerator if you want it."
▶fall asleep the second (one's) head hits the pillow:
"I wish I could fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow but I can't."
